According to statistics, at the end of the registration period for the entrance exam to grade 6 at Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School (District 1) on the afternoon of May 29, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training received 4,851 applications. With a quota of 350, the "competition" rate to enter the school is 1/13.8 (for every 14 candidates registering for the exam, only 1 is admitted).
Last year, the school also had a high "competition" rate when 4,301 students registered for admission out of a total of 350 quotas, corresponding to a "competition" rate of 1/12.
Students who want to take the survey must achieve 9 points or higher in Math and Vietnamese in grade 5. If they do not pass, they will be placed in secondary schools according to local admission regulations.

Candidates taking the entrance exam for grade 6 at Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School this year will take the aptitude test on June 16. The test consists of two parts: essay and multiple choice, with a duration of 90 minutes.
In which, the multiple choice part (done in 30 minutes) tests knowledge of Natural Sciences , Social Sciences, and common sense.
The essay section (done in 60 minutes) consists of 3 parts: English proficiency test (listening, reading, writing), students do the test in English; Math and logical thinking ability test, students do the test in Vietnamese; Reading comprehension and writing ability test, students do the test in Vietnamese.
This is the second year that Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School has enrolled 6th graders after separating from Tran Dai Nghia Specialized High School in May 2024.
Last year, grade 6 of Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School had a benchmark score of 67.5/100 points.
