Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Duc Hai highly appreciated the city's active preparations to build the International Financial Center and Da Nang Free Trade Zone.
The meeting will focus on three issues: the construction of Vietnam's international financial center in Da Nang city; the establishment of the Da Nang Free Trade Zone; and the transition to applying a number of specific mechanisms and policies in Da Nang city.
Regarding the financial center, Da Nang city has established a Steering Committee, working groups, issued plans and resolutions of the City Party Committee to implement Notice No. 47-TB/TW of the Politburo and Resolution No. 259/NQ-CP of the Government. At the same time, Da Nang is the first locality in the country to have the Politburo agree on the policy and the National Assembly allow the pilot establishment of a free trade zone.
“The most important goal when the Politburo and the Government are interested in the international financial center is to mobilize capital to support the country's economic development. At today's working session, the National Assembly leaders want to listen to opinions and proposals to effectively implement important models,” said Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Duc Hai.

Reporting at the meeting, Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Trung Chinh said that regarding the international financial center, the city agreed in principle to use a 22-storey building at Da Nang Software Park No. 2 with a construction floor area of over 27,000 m2 .
In addition, clean land near the sea with an area of nearly 18 hectares has been planned and arranged to build a Vietnam international financial center in Da Nang that meets international standards.
In the long term, the Da Nang Industrial Park in Son Tra Ward (new) with an area of 62 hectares will be converted into a financial district and about 350 hectares of the total 1,500 hectares of the reclaimed area in Da Nang Bay will be arranged. At the same time, the information technology infrastructure and technical infrastructure will fully meet and ensure development requirements.
The city has selected civil servants and public employees from departments, agencies, organizations such as banks and universities in the city to be sent for training at major international financial centers in the world. Recently, the city has organized training courses to improve knowledge about the international financial center in Da Nang city for more than 300 cadres, civil servants and public employees of agencies and units.

Regarding the free trade zone, in order to be able to immediately implement the project after the Prime Minister approves the decision to establish the Da Nang Free Trade Zone, the City People's Committee has drafted a plan to implement the Da Nang Free Trade Zone project, which is expected to be issued immediately after the Prime Minister's decision.
At the same time, Da Nang city continues to research and expand the scale and space of the Da Nang Free Trade Zone, especially to the south of the new Da Nang city, to fully exploit the potential and potential of the new Da Nang city after the province's merger, especially the location of Chu Lai airport and southern ports...
In order to fully exploit the potentials and advantages as well as create new positions and strengths for the new administrative unit after the merger, the city proposed that the leaders of the National Assembly and the leaders of the National Assembly Committees support the policy of allowing Da Nang city after the merger to continue implementing the current specific mechanisms and policies of Da Nang city according to Resolution No. 136/2024/QH15 dated June 26, 2024 of the National Assembly, which is being effectively implemented under the transitional mechanism, creating an inter-regional legal corridor in all areas of: investment, finance, state budget; planning management, urban, natural resources, environment.
