Phu Tan District Party Committee has issued many directives and resolutions related to the construction of new rural areas. Notably, Resolution 04 on assigning responsibilities to party members, cadres, and members of mass organizations to complete household criteria in the construction of new rural areas. Depending on the actual conditions of the locality, communes in the district have specified the construction of new rural areas from 13-14 tasks that people need to perform.

Implementing Resolution 03 of the District Party Committee on utilizing land for growing crops and fruit trees to increase income, many small-scale specialized crop growing models in the district have been formed along with the model of self-supplying clean vegetables at home. Its effectiveness is to provide clean vegetables for consumption and help people increase their income. Accordingly, since the beginning of the year, the whole district has planted over 400 hectares of crops, reaching over 30% of the annual plan. Crops are short-term crops, farmers can grow many crops in a year in the form of intercropping, overlapping crops, increasing the rotation of the land.

Like the household of Mr. Nguyen Van Du, 45 years old, Tho Mai hamlet, Phu My commune, thanks to taking advantage of nearly 2,000 m2 of land around the house, the square dyke to grow crops such as pumpkin, corn, eggplant, squash, cucumber, bitter melon... each year, the family's income increases by nearly 100 million VND. Mr. Du shared: "Thanks to growing crops, my family's life is stable. The source of clean vegetables is trusted by consumers, many people come to the house to buy, so the output is stable."

In 2011, the Standing Committee of Phu Tan District Party Committee issued Directive No. 08 on maintenance, repair and embankment against landslides of road traffic routes. Following that, in 2019, the District Party Committee issued a specialized resolution on this issue, aiming to promote the role of cadres and people in building new rural areas. As a result, since the beginning of the year, communes and towns have built embankments against landslides for more than 10,500 m, reaching 18% of the annual plan, mainly mobilizing people's strength, depending on actual conditions, applying appropriate measures, such as concrete embankments, local trees... This work brings direct benefits to people and changes the appearance of the countryside in a positive direction, so more and more households are proactively implementing it.

Mr. Luong The Tan, 67 years old, Phu Thanh hamlet, Phu My commune, is one of the people who implemented this resolution well. Mr. Tan made a dike with local wood, then used a net, planted mangrove trees to prevent erosion, with a length of nearly 100 m. Mr. Tan said that making a dike like this is low cost but very effective, for more than 10 years now the land in front of his house has not been eroded.

Phu Tan district has 8/8 communes recognized as meeting NTM standards, currently reaching a total of 133/152 criteria, Cai Doi Vam town is recognized as a civilized urban area.

Building a new rural area is a correct policy and is creating sustainable development for the lives of rural people. It can be seen that with the decisive direction of the District Party Committee, expressed through practical directives and resolutions, effectively implemented in life, and actively responded by Party members and people, it has contributed to making the new rural appearance of Phu Tan district more and more prosperous./.
