On September 25, former President Trump made his most public criticism of the Ukrainian President regarding the conflict with Russia since the war began, according to CNN.
"Cities are gone and we continue to give billions of dollars to a guy who refuses to make a deal, Mr. Zelensky. There is no deal that he can make that is not better than the situation right now. You are looking at a country that is devastated, that cannot be rebuilt," Mr. Trump told supporters at a rally in Mint Hill, North Carolina.

The Republican presidential candidate criticized US President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris for continuing to support Ukraine. He also repeated his signal that he would end US aid to Ukraine if re-elected.
"Every time he comes to our country, he leaves with $60 billion. He's probably the greatest salesman on earth," Trump said of President Zelensky. The Ukrainian leader is in the United States for the United Nations General Assembly, but according to CNN, he has no plans to meet with Trump.

Earlier, in an interview with The New Yorker magazine over the weekend, Mr. Zelensky criticized Mr. Trump's plan to end the war. He also said that Senator JD Vance, Mr. Trump's running mate, was "too extreme" and emphasized that the conflict should not end at the expense of Ukraine.
"The president of Ukraine is in our country and he's saying some pretty nasty things about your favorite president, me," Trump said.
Also in his speech on September 25, Mr. Trump accused Mr. Biden and Ms. Harris of allowing the war to happen in Ukraine. Previously, he had repeatedly stated that the conflicts would not have happened if he were president.
Mr. Trump emphasized that he got along very well with Russian President Vladimir Putin and talked to him a lot when he was president.
