On May 27, the Minister of Education and Training issued a decision to recognize Associate Professor Bui Huy Nhuong, Deputy Director of the National Economics University, as Director of the National Economics University for the 2021-2026 term, starting from August 1. Associate Professor Bui Huy Nhuong's predecessor, Professor Pham Hong Chuong, will retire from management according to regulations.
Associate Professor Bui Huy Nhuong will be the Director of the National Economics University from August 1.

Associate Professor Bui Huy Nhuong, 52 years old, is a former student of the National Economics University and was retained at the university to teach after graduation. He received his doctorate in 2006 and was awarded the title of associate professor in 2011.
His research interests include theoretical and practical issues in international economics and business, focusing on specialized issues such as foreign investment; import and export; international finance.
National Economics University is one of the largest centers for training and fostering economic management and business administration staff in Vietnam. The predecessor of this university is the School of Economics and Finance, established in 1956. Since 1985, the school has been called National Economics University.
On November 15, 2024, the Prime Minister signed a decision to convert the National Economics University into the National Economics University.
The National Economics University is assigned by the Government to carry out three main tasks: advising on macroeconomic policies; training in economics, management and business administration at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels; and training managers for businesses.
