About 70 km north of Quy Nhon City, Mui Vi Rong (also known as Mui Rong, in Tan Phung village, My Tho commune, Phu My district, Binh Dinh) appears as a wonder where the sky and sea meet. Seen from above, the entire undulating rock complex looks like a giant dragon stretching out to sea, catching the wind, embracing the ocean. Thanks to its pristine beauty, this place is attracting tourists to visit.
"THE MOST BEAUTIFUL WHEN THE SUNSET FALLS…"
Following the instructions of the locals, we went to the house of Mr. Truong Ba Pha (67 years old, Head of Tan Phung 1 village, My Tho commune), a rare person who still preserves the legend of Mui Vi Rong.

Mr. Pha shared that his understanding of Mui Vi Rong all originated from the oral stories of his predecessors. Through many generations, these stories have been vividly told. However, the reality is that until now, there have not been any documents or books that systematically and completely record Mui Vi Rong.
According to legend, in the past, Mui Vi Rong was just a large rock shaped like fish scales, popularly known as dragon scale rock. Cao Bien, a Tang Dynasty general famous for his feng shui skills, often rode a paper kite and flew everywhere to suppress the dragon veins of our country. When flying across this land, he noticed that spiritual energy gathered at Mui Vi Rong. Fearing that this land would give birth to a hero, Cao Bien set up an altar to perform magic, cutting off the dragon veins to eliminate future disasters.

When the dragon vein was cut, dragon scales fell everywhere. The dragon's blood fell down and formed small red stones lying next to each other, mixed in the sand. This type of stone is very hard, when ground with water it produces a bright red color, when held it does not stick to the hand, so it is likened to lipstick given by heaven. At that time, students everywhere heard about it and gathered together to Mui Vi Rong to collect this rare stone to make lipstick for teachers to mark their papers.
"Vi Rong Cape is most beautiful at sunset. From above, it looks like a giant dragon rising out to sea," said Mr. Pha.
DIFFERENT EXPERIENCES ACCORDING TO THE SEASONS OF THE YEAR
Today, Mui Vi Rong is not only famous for its legend but also attracts tourists with its pristine and charming natural beauty. According to Mr. Truong Minh Cuong, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of My Tho Commune, the image of Mui Vi Rong has been widely spread on social networks, making it a favorite check-in spot, attracting a large number of tourists from all over the world. Thanks to that, the lives of people in Tan Phung village have also improved thanks to community tourism .

Coming here, visitors can admire a fascinating rock complex, including Da Dung beach and An Bang beach, lying on top of each other, stretching out to the sea. From afar, the rock beach looks like a dragon trying to fly out to the ocean. All of this creates a beautiful scene of interweaving and blending between the rocky mountains and the ocean waves. In particular, in the middle of the rocky mountain, there is a unique cave leading to the sea.
Ms. Tong Thi Kim Hoang (in Long Xuyen City, An Giang ) excitedly said that she and her group of friends decided to choose Mui Vi Rong as the destination in their journey across the Central region. "This was the right choice. Mui Vi Rong is beautiful, it has a wild, mysterious appearance. Sitting under the small cave, if you pay attention, you will see that it looks like a dragon's heart has been punctured and torn open, I can feel the coolness and freshness of the natural scenery", Ms. Hoang said.
"I was quite surprised when I saw Mui Vi Rong with my own eyes. Indeed, it was very different from what I had imagined. The scenery was poetic and romantic with clear blue sea, fine yellow sand, rocks lined up in rows running far and wide... Everything blended together, making me feel like I was lost in a paradise somewhere in Europe," said Le Tri Dat (a tourist from Ba Ria-Vung Tau province).

It can be said that Mui Vi Rong gives visitors different experiences according to the seasons of the year. Not only attractive in spring and summer, Mui Vi Rong also becomes an ideal destination in winter with big waves attracting surfing enthusiasts, especially foreign tourists.
"In winter, Western tourists often stay at local people's houses to surf. This not only creates income for local people but also promotes the image of tourism to international friends," said Mr. Nguyen Tuan Hoang (in Tan Phung village).
Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Chung, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Binh Dinh province, informed that Mui Vi Rong is becoming a famous place on the tourism "map" of Phu My district in particular and Binh Dinh province in general. With its available potential, Phu My district is actively coordinating with relevant departments and units to plan and organize conferences to call for and attract investment in this field towards strong and effective development of the smokeless industry.
