Many tourism investment projects in Phu Loc are still unfinished.

There are still many bottlenecks.

At the recent meeting of the District People's Council, the socio -economic report of the District People's Committee also frankly pointed out that tourism in the lagoon area has not been effectively exploited. In fact, when coming to Phu Loc, many tourists want to find interesting lagoon experience tours but there are none. Apart from sup rowing services and some simple activities, tourism products in the lagoon area here have not been exploited by travel agencies commensurate with their inherent potential.

In addition to the lagoon, Phu Loc is endowed with potential for sea and waterfall tourism. If sea services are mainly for swimming and enjoying seafood, lacking experiences and entertainment services on the sea, the level of exploitation of services at waterfall and stream tourism spots still has many problems. Also at the 8th session of the District People's Council, term 2021 - 2026, many limitations and shortcomings in tourism were pointed out. In particular, although many tourist spots have investors, the implementation progress is still slow or has stopped, such as Voi stream, resorts along Lang Co beach... Some stream and stream tourism spots are spontaneous, unlicensed, and the budget contribution level is not high.

According to many opinions of the people through meetings with voters and exchanges with the press, what they feel regretful and worried about are the unfinished billion-dollar projects, which are expected to change Phu Loc tourism. A typical example is the Minh Vien project, invested by Minh Vien International Joint Stock Company and started in December 2018 with a scale of about 102 hectares, total investment capital of 7,728 billion VND (equivalent to 368 million USD). However, after 6 years of construction, the project has only partially completed the construction of the hotel buildings. Many villas are under construction, with peeling plaster.

Or the nearby project is the Mediterranean Tourist Area invested by Vicoland Construction and Housing Development Corporation, with a capital of more than 838 billion VND. This project started construction in 2016, covering an area of 6.9 hectares and expected to become an international-class coastal tourist area. However, up to now, this project is just a block of abandoned, degraded construction works and is fenced off and protected... Mr. Nguyen Van Hai, a resident of Phu Loc shared: "I feel very sad that these projects are still not completed. If there are any problems, local authorities and businesses should focus on solving them."

A leader in Phu Loc district is concerned that Phu Loc tourism indeed has many bottlenecks. When the service infrastructure is not up to standard and the service cannot be exploited, the potential is still just a rough gem. For example, lagoon tourism, if infrastructure, marinas, and certified boats are not invested in, and there are no routes, tourism cannot break through and bottlenecks will still exist.

Need for drastic changes

The above bottlenecks are not new but have existed for a long time and local authorities have also pointed them out frankly. However, to solve the bottlenecks, drastic changes are needed.

Mr. Chung said that for investment projects that are behind schedule, the District People's Committee and relevant departments and agencies have requested the Provincial People's Committee and relevant agencies to review the progress and find solutions to remove difficulties. For spontaneous waterfall tourism spots, the district is adjusting land use planning for leasing through auctions in accordance with legal regulations. For lagoon tourism, the district is also making efforts to call for investment, striving to soon form a boat driving team, working with departments and agencies to grant licenses for inspection of boats, routes, etc.

According to the leaders of Phu Loc district, the local government and related sectors are currently implementing many solutions to gradually improve the tourism environment, improve service quality, and create traditional and specialty products to attract tourists. The district will strongly innovate tourism promotion and advertising; promote domestic and international tourism demand, and increase the introduction of new destinations and tourism products. In addition, it will focus on effectively exploiting the Cay Da Bac boat dock; calling for organizing tours and experience routes on Cau Hai lagoon, and investing in floating restaurants according to the plan.
