The Tri An Hydropower Plant Expansion Project in Dong Nai Province was approved by the Prime Minister in the National Power Development Plan for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050. The project is invested by EVN and directly managed by the Power Project Management Board 3 (EVNPMB3), with a total investment of VND 3,965 billion, an installed capacity of 200 MW (including 2 units x 100 MW). The capital for the project includes about 30% of the investor's own capital and about 70% of commercial loans from KfW and BIDV . It is expected that unit 01 will be generated in the third quarter of 2027, unit 02 will be generated in the fourth quarter of 2027 and the entire project will be completed in the fourth quarter of 2027.
Package XL04-TAMR is the main package of the Project with the main scope of work including: Inlet channel, water intake gate, pressure pipeline, hydroelectric plant; discharge channel, connecting the plant to the existing power system, construction items...
In order to promote the internal strength of domestic enterprises, this package was organized to select contractors through the form of open domestic bidding via the Internet. The contractor with the capacity and experience selected to win the bid was the XL04-TAMR Package Joint Venture with a contract price of 1,451 billion VND, contract implementation period of 960 days, in which the progress of generating electricity for Unit 01 is on September 30, 2027, generating electricity for Unit 02 and completing the entire project on December 31, 2027.
Speaking at the ceremony, the leader of Vietnam Electricity Group said that this is one of the key projects of EVN to be deployed in 2025. During the investment preparation and implementation of the project, EVN has received attention and close direction from the Government, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Finance, along with the support and close coordination of the Provincial People's Committee and departments and branches of Dong Nai province to develop a construction organization plan, select suitable contractors, and ensure requirements on safety, progress, and quality of the project. Vietnam Electricity Group assigned the Power Project Management Board 3 and the XL04-TAMR Bidding Package Joint Venture to organize project management, organize construction to ensure compliance with requirements on quality, safety, and environmental protection, focus resources and equipment to accelerate progress, and strive to complete the project according to the set plan.
The contract signing ceremony for the construction package of the Tri An Hydropower Plant expansion project is an important premise for the Project Management Board and the Contractor Consortium to carry out site preparation work, organize the implementation of related items of the project, and strive to ensure the project commencement schedule on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2.
