VEC announced that to ensure the safety of the Cau Gie - Ninh Binh expressway during the construction of phase 3 of the Phu Thu intersection investment project and the connecting road in Tien Hiep commune, Phu Ly city, from July 26, vehicles traveling on the Cau Gie - Ninh Binh expressway to the section Km225+900-Km227+500 will temporarily go through the Phu Thu underpass.
Currently, Phu Thu tunnel has completed construction, fully equipped with road signs and road markings.
Specialized motorbikes, 4-wheeled motor vehicles for transporting people, 4-wheeled motor vehicles for transporting goods, vehicles similar to motorbikes, mopeds, rudimentary vehicles and pedestrians are not allowed on highways (except for people, means of transport and equipment serving the management and maintenance of highways).
Vehicles traveling on the expressway from Hanoi to Ninh Binh must travel at the speed specified on the signs and road signs of the Cau Gie - Ninh Binh expressway. When approaching the Phu Thu intersection project area, they must reduce their speed according to the road signs.
Specifically, vehicles traveling to Km 225 + 450 must not exceed 100 km/h; to Km 225 + 650 must not exceed 80 km/h; to Km 225 + 850 must not exceed 60 km/h; the permitted speed when vehicles pass through the section Km225 + 900 - Km227 + 500 (including Phu Thu tunnel) must not exceed 60 km/h.

For the Ninh Binh - Hanoi direction, vehicles must travel at the speed specified on the signs and road signs of the Cau Gie - Ninh Binh expressway. When approaching the project area, they must reduce speed.
Specifically, at Km 228 + 080, the speed is not more than 100 km/h; at Km 227 + 880, the speed is not more than 80 km/h; at Km 227 + 680, the speed is not more than 60 km/h; The allowed speed when vehicles pass through the section from Km227 + 500 to Km225 + 900 (including Phu Thu tunnel) of the highway is not more than 60 km/h.
The minimum safe distance between vehicles is 55m for sections with speeds greater than 60 km/h and less than or equal to 80 km/h; the distance is 70m for sections with speeds greater than 80 km/h and less than or equal to 100 km/h; vehicles are 100m apart for sections with speeds greater than 100 km/h and less than or equal to 120 km/h.
For vehicles traveling from Hanoi to Ninh Binh, when the vehicle reaches Km225+950 on the Cau Gie - Ninh Binh route, continue straight through Phu Thu tunnel. After passing through Phu Thu tunnel, follow the “highway; rest stop” sign at Km226+880 and the road markings.
Then, if the vehicle needs to turn into the rest stop (located on the right in the direction of Hanoi - Ninh Binh), the vehicle follows the road signs to turn right into the rest stop. After using the service at the rest stop, the vehicles move according to the road signs to exit the rest stop and enter the highway in the area behind the sign at Km227+340 and continue on the Cau Gie - Ninh Binh highway towards Ninh Binh.
If you do not turn into the above mentioned rest stop, follow the signs and road markings to continue straight on the highway towards Ninh Binh.

For vehicles traveling from Ninh Binh to Hanoi, when reaching Km227+400 on the Cau Gie - Ninh Binh route, follow the "highway; rest stop" sign and road markings. Next, if the vehicle needs to turn into the rest stop (on the right in the direction of Ninh Binh - Hanoi), the vehicle follows the road signs and road markings to turn into the rest stop.
After using the service at the rest stop, the vehicle moves according to the signs to enter Km 227 +080 (the road section south of Phu Thu tunnel), then enters the main highway and passes through Phu Thu tunnel towards Hanoi.
In case the vehicle does not turn into the above mentioned rest stop, the vehicle continues straight on the highway, passes Km 227+300 and goes through Phu Thu tunnel towards Hanoi.
