Detected and arrested 70 cases during the peak period of fighting against smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeit goods

In order to carry out the peak of the fight to prevent and repel smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and infringement of intellectual property rights, in recent times, the Steering Committee 389 of Quang Tri province has closely followed the direction of the Government, central ministries and branches, the National Steering Committee 389 and the Provincial People's Committee to direct branches, functional forces and localities to actively and synchronously implement measures to combat smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods in the province.

Accordingly, during the peak period of May 2025, functional forces in the province fought, detected, arrested and handled 70 cases/76 subjects (including: trading, transporting prohibited goods, smuggled goods 45 cases; commercial fraud 25 cases) with goods value of 1.22 billion VND; collected 3.09 billion VND for the budget; handled 24 criminal cases with 31 subjects.

The main seized items include: 74,745 pills and 300 grams of synthetic drugs, 163.17 grams of heroin, 2,991 grams of crystal meth; 35.25 kg of firecrackers; 900 bottles of foreign wine; 1,200 bottles of beer; 33.35 tons of sugar; 7.24 ^cubic meters of wood; 2.5 kg and 1 wild animal; 1,572 boxes of cosmetics...

According to the assessment of the Provincial Steering Committee 389, the situation of smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods in the province is increasingly complicated.

However, with a high sense of responsibility, along with focusing on information collection, proactively establishing special projects to fight, focusing on key subjects and key goods, the National Steering Committee 389, the Provincial People's Committee, and the Provincial Steering Committee 389 have strengthened the direction of inspection and control forces, thus arresting many large-scale cases of smuggled goods. As a result, the number of violations in May decreased by 46.97%, the value of violated goods decreased by 60.64% and the budget revenue increased by 21.18% compared to the same period in 2024.
