Promoting combined strength, entering a new era with the whole country

VHO - On the afternoon of March 3, Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung chaired the Conference to deploy work for March 2025 according to Decree No. 43/2025/ND-CP dated February 28, 2025 stipulating the functions, tasks, powers and organizational structure of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Co-chairing the conference were alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister Le Hai Binh and Deputy Ministers Trinh Thi Thuy, Hoang Dao Cuong, Phan Tam. Also attending the conference were leaders of units under the Ministry, officials, civil servants, and public employees of units under the Ministry of Information and Communications that have just been transferred to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Speaking at the Conference, Minister Nguyen Van Hung said that on February 27, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism held a ceremony to hand over the Prime Minister 's Decision on the transfer and appointment of Mr. Le Hai Binh and Mr. Phan Tam as Deputy Ministers of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Currently, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has 1 Minister and 6 Deputy Ministers.

Before the Conference this afternoon, the Minister also chaired a meeting to assign tasks to 6 Deputy Ministers in the spirit of being proactive, prioritizing work efficiency, with the highest goal of successfully completing the tasks assigned by the Party and State.

Pursuant to Decree No. 43/2025/ND-CP dated February 28, 2025 stipulating the functions, tasks, powers and organizational structure of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry currently has 25 units.

After receiving the units under the Ministry of Information and Communications, in order to stabilize soon and with the spirit of readiness to perform the tasks, the Ministry organized an early March meeting in which it invited more cadres, civil servants and public employees of the Ministry of Information and Communications to return to the old house, thoroughly grasp the tasks, with the hope that the units would cooperate and coordinate better to promote the combined strength, complete the tasks prescribed in Decree 43 of the Government .

When transferring the Ministry, it is an inevitable feeling, but according to the Minister, the great poet Nguyen Du also wrote: " The golden lotus and chrysanthemum bloom again/ Long sorrow and short days, winter has turned to spring ".

Therefore, this transfer will also open up new opportunities and new hopes to create the combined strength of the entire Ministry, contributing to the overall development of the country.

The Minister hopes that the 5 units of the Ministry of Information and Communications and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will quickly get to work, adapt to the new environment, have new joys, and promote efficiency in their work.

The Minister also emphasized that the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has been assigned by the State with the important task of state management of the press and media. In the context of multimedia development, the era of information technology explosion, with the remarkable development of artificial intelligence (AI) as today... the role of the press is increasingly important. The press is the bridge between the Party, the State and the People, demonstrating the strength of propaganda and agitation work, implementing the policies of the Party and the State when entering the era of building and developing an increasingly prosperous country.

Despite many advantages, according to the Minister, state management of the press will also face many difficulties. It is necessary to play the right role, know the lesson, perform well the pre-control and post-control work, and proactively research new methods suitable to the current context.

The Minister noted that press management is not just about banning but also about creating for development. Therefore, the functional departments of state press management need to research to find ways to create development for the press and strengthen international cooperation for the press.

The units performing the state management function of the press of the Ministry also need to coordinate well and share with the units performing the state management function of culture, sports and tourism to promote efficiency in their work.

Sharing about the achievements and results of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in recent times, which have been highly appreciated by the Party and State leaders and recognized by the People, the Minister said that in terms of institutional work, the Ministry has completed a large amount of work, advising the Government to submit to the National Assembly many Laws and Programs to clear resources for the development of the cultural sector, such as the National Assembly's approval of the Cinema Law and the Law on Prevention of Domestic Violence.

Or at the last session, the National Assembly passed the Heritage Law; considered and commented on it at a session and will consider and pass the Advertising Law (amended) at the next session. In particular, the National Assembly also passed the National Target Program on Cultural Development and requested its immediate implementation in 2025;

The Ministry also recently held a workshop "Giving comments on the Draft Feasibility Study Report of the National Target Program on Cultural Development for the 2025-2035 period".

Reviewing many positive signs in the development of cultural industries, recalling the creative approach of the special art program celebrating the Party, celebrating spring, celebrating the country's renewal with the theme "95 years of light illuminating the way", the Minister said that it was the innovation in the way of organizing at the August Revolution Square, with the participation of the "Anh trai say hi" that created a good effect, attracting young people to a seemingly rather dry political event.

The Minister also praised the results of the tourism industry over the past year and noted that although the number of international visitors increased significantly in the first two months of the year, there was no reason to be complacent.

Sharing the difficulties of Vietnamese sports, the Minister analyzed that most of the countries with top positions in the Olympics are from countries with developed economies. Therefore, the fact that we had 16 athletes competing in the recent Olympics was a remarkable effort by the coaches and athletes.

"We must love athletes and sympathize with them to see their efforts and difficulties and find ways to overcome them in order to improve their performance," the Minister directed.

The Minister also requested the sports sector to implement well Conclusion 70 of the Politburo on developing physical education and sports in the new period. At the same time, focus on the task of reaching the continental and world arena. With the immediate task of the 33rd SEA Games, held at the end of this year, the Minister hopes that the Department of Physical Education and Sports will prepare well to protect the achievements made at the previous 2 SEA Games, bringing joy to the people of the whole country.

In addition to professional work, the Minister also said that the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will continue to carry out the task of streamlining the apparatus in the spirit of Resolution 18 on the arrangement and organization of the apparatus. The Minister hopes that the units under the Ministry will coordinate well, promote efficiency in work, create a combined strength to contribute, and together with the whole country enter a new era, an era of wealth, prosperity and happiness for the entire nation.

At the Conference, representatives of the units under the Ministry of Information and Communications that have just been transferred to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism also spoke, thanking the Minister and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism for their concern for the children when they return to their old home. That will motivate them to be more confident on the next journey, joining hands with the new mission of developing the culture, sports and tourism industry.
