Promoting youth strengths in the field of science and technology

On February 27, in Hanoi, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union held a national conference to study and disseminate Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo and the Action Program to implement the Resolution of the Union in a combination of in-person and online formats. The conference was connected to more than 4,000 points of contact, attracting nearly 126,000 viewers.

Speaking at the conference, Professor Nguyen Quan, former member of the Party Central Committee, former Minister of Science and Technology , affirmed: the Politburo's viewpoint in Resolution 57-NQ/TW is to urgently and resolutely perfect institutions; eliminate all thoughts, concepts, and barriers that delay development; and turn institutions into a competitive advantage in the development of science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation.

The breakthrough point of the Resolution is the reform of the financial management mechanism in performing scientific , technological, innovation and digital transformation tasks; maximum simplification of administrative procedures; and autonomy in using funds for scientific research and technology development.

According to comrade Bui Quang Huy, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, First Secretary of the Central Youth Union, Resolution 57-NQ/TW takes people as the center and subject. Therefore, union members and youth are not outside the above scope, and union officials are only companions, creating an environment and favorable conditions for young people.

The action program of the Youth Union to implement Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW demonstrates the high political determination and action in the entire Youth Union organization system with the highest goal of accompanying the country on the path of breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and digital transformation.

At the Conference, comrade Bui Quang Huy called on all union members and youth nationwide to raise awareness, change their thinking, and deeply understand the role of science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation in the cause of national construction and development.

"Young people should be pioneers, study, and practice to improve their scientific, technological, and digital skills... From there, prepare a solid foundation to embark on the national digital transformation process, create breakthroughs in science and technology, and participate in improving the quality of human resources," the First Secretary of the Central Youth Union suggested.
