In particular, under the leadership of the Party, during the 80 years of building and growing of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 / December 22, 2024), the Ha Nam Provincial Armed Forces have continuously grown, fought and won, making worthy contributions to the formation of the forces of the army "born from the people, fighting and sacrificing for the people".

Through the resistance wars for national liberation and protection of the Fatherland, the army and people of Ha Nam have achieved glorious feats of arms so that the country "blossoms with independence and bears the fruit of freedom". The history of the Ha Nam Provincial Party Committee also records that, after the successful uprising to seize power in Phu Ly town (now Phu Ly city), on August 25, 1945, the Ha Nam Liberation Army was established with 3 companies, including 120 officers and soldiers. In addition to the province's concentrated armed forces, each district organized a concentrated armed platoon with many different names: "Liberation Army", "Suicide Army", "Volunteer Self-Defense Force"... To respond to the situation during the period when the whole country entered the resistance war against the French colonialists, in compliance with the directives of the Government and the Ministry of National Defense , on March 18, 1947, the Command of the National Army and the Ha Nam Militia and Self-Defense Force (abbreviated as Ha Nam Provincial Team) was established and became the Traditional Day of the Ha Nam Provincial Armed Forces.

During the resistance war against the French colonialists, with their steadfast and indomitable will, the armed forces of Ha Nam province were truly the core force for the entire people to fight the enemy. Everywhere in the province, the movement of "building ramparts, digging trenches, building resistance villages, turning each hamlet, each village into a fortress, each citizen a soldier" took place vigorously, the army and people fought steadfastly right in the enemy's heart. Many village and land names such as: Duc Ban, Cong Chua (Ly Nhan), Chia Xa, Cho Luong (Duy Tien), Chanh Che, Doan Vi (Thanh Liem), Nhat Tuu, Dai Cuong (Kim Bang), Hong Phu (Phu Ly)... are closely associated with the growth, development and achievements of the provincial armed forces, becoming symbols of bravery and sacrifice that will last forever, and are the pride of the army and people in the province. The army and people of Ha Nam province closely coordinated with the main units to fight more than 10,000 large and small battles, eliminating tens of thousands of enemy troops from combat, destroying and capturing thousands of tons of weapons and war vehicles; contributing to both restraining, wearing down and destroying the enemy in the area, and providing human and material support to the battlefields, together with the whole country, creating the historic Dien Bien Phu Victory in 1954.

Entering the resistance war against the invading American imperialists, together with the whole country, the army and people of Ha Nam united to fight, build their homeland and provide human and material support to the southern front. The American imperialists expanded the destructive war to the North. From November 1965 to December 1972, the army and people of Ha Nam bravely and steadfastly coordinated closely with the Air Defense Force to create a multi-layered, multi-layered air defense fire network in all directions, protecting key traffic points, factories, construction sites, train stations, residential areas with many fierce battles of the army and people of Lam Ha, Phu Van, Thanh Hai, Self-Defense Mechanics 63... to maintain the traffic artery. During the process of fighting against the destructive war of the American imperialists, the provincial armed forces and the people coordinated to fight hundreds of battles, shot down 17 planes, captured many enemy pilots...

During the two long resistance wars, under the leadership of the Provincial Party Committee, the army and people of Ha Nam persevered and heroically overcame many hardships and sacrifices, both fighting and building the country; both producing and fighting. The people and armed forces of Ha Nam province wholeheartedly supported the front line with human and material resources, mobilizing more than 70,000 young people to join the army, tens of thousands of young volunteers, frontline laborers, and thousands of cadres from various sectors to participate in fighting, serving in fighting, and building a revolutionary government in the South. The war has long since ended, but history will forever record the feats of more than 17,000 heroic sons of Ha Nam who sacrificed their lives and tens of thousands of people who left a part of their blood and bones on the battlefields in the wars to liberate and defend the Fatherland.

With the outstanding achievements of the army and people of Ha Nam in the two resistance wars against French colonialism and American imperialism, up to now, 53 groups and 41 individuals have been honored by the Party and State with the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces; many groups and thousands of individuals have been awarded medals of various types; 1,425 mothers have been awarded the title of Heroic Vietnamese Mother by the State.

Under the leadership and direction of the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense, the Military Region 3 Command and regularly and directly the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee..., the provincial armed forces have continuously grown and developed, together with the Party Committee, the government and the people, achieved many feats, contributing to further embellishing the revolutionary tradition of Ha Nam homeland and the tradition of the heroic Vietnam People's Army. Proud to be a force in the ranks of the Vietnam People's Army, regardless of conditions and circumstances, the Ha Nam provincial armed forces always strive to overcome all difficulties, successfully complete all assigned tasks, making important contributions to the cause of national liberation struggle, building and defending the Fatherland, building the tradition of "Solidarity, initiative, creativity, determination to win".

To continue promoting and writing glorious history, excellently completing all tasks, contributing to firmly protecting the Fatherland "from early on, from afar", the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee and Provincial Military Party Committee determined to focus on leading and directing the provincial armed forces to continue to thoroughly grasp and successfully implement the resolutions of the Party Congresses at all levels, especially the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, Resolution of the 8th Central Committee (term XIII) on the Strategy for protecting the Fatherland in the new situation. To closely lead and direct local defense and military tasks, to promote the combined strength of the entire political system and the entire people to build an all-people defense, an all-people defense posture associated with the people's security posture and an increasingly solid "people's hearts posture". To thoroughly and strictly implement Resolution No. 847-NQ/QUTW of the Central Military Commission on promoting the qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers, resolutely fighting against individualism in the new situation. Focus on building the Party and the provincial armed forces strong in politics, ideology, organization, ethics and cadres. Focus on building a comprehensively strong provincial armed forces that are "exemplary and typical".
