Promoting the glorious tradition of the Propaganda sector

The traditional day of the Propaganda sector (August 1) has profound political, ideological and cultural significance. It is a historical milestone marking the birth and increasingly strong growth of the Party's propaganda sector - the sector with the earliest history in the Party's leadership activities, affirming the primary importance of ideological work in the activities of establishing the Communist Party as well as in the Party's leadership.

After the Party Founding Conference on February 3, 1930, the Party's theoretical, propaganda and agitation work aimed at enlightening the masses to understand the Party, support, believe in and follow the Party was an urgent requirement. The Party established the Agitation and Propaganda Committee. Later, on the occasion of the International Day of Struggle Against Imperialist War, on August 1, 1930, the Party's Agitation and Propaganda Committee published the document "International Red Day, August 1", calling on soldiers to unite with the people and respond to the struggle against imperialist war. This is the only and earliest document still preserved to this day that clearly states "Published by the Agitation and Propaganda Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam". When this document was published, it had a great influence on the masses of workers and peasants. Hundreds of rallies and demonstrations broke out across the country to stand up to fight against imperialist war, protect the Soviet Union, and support the national liberation movement. Since then, August 1st has become a major milestone in the history of revolutionary struggle, marking a very meaningful activity in the Party's propaganda work.

Based on these documents and events, in 2000, the 8th Politburo decided to make August 1st the Traditional Day of the Party's Ideological and Cultural Work. In 2007, after the Central Ideological and Cultural Commission and the Central Science and Education Commission merged into the Central Propaganda Commission, the 10th Central Party Secretariat decided to make August 1st of each year the Traditional Day of the Party's Propaganda Work.

Over the 94-year history of construction and development, the Party's specialized agency for Propaganda work has had different names with separations and mergers to suit the requirements and tasks of each revolutionary period. However, in any period, Propaganda work has always maintained an important position and role in the Party's leadership, making great contributions to the struggle for independence, unification and building a prosperous and happy country, and is the pride of the entire Party, the entire people and the entire army. The Propaganda sector has clearly demonstrated its role of "going ahead to pave the way, accompanying the implementation, following the summary", with outstanding contributions and remarkable maturity over the periods, making great contributions to the struggle for independence, unification and building the country.

Promoting that glorious tradition, the Quang Ninh Propaganda Department has constantly strived to fulfill its assigned functions and tasks; encouraged, motivated, and created consensus among the people, making an important contribution to the successful implementation of political tasks, socio-economic development targets, security and defense of the province. With a proactive, creative, and innovative spirit, the provincial Propaganda Department has resolutely implemented many tasks and solutions, successfully completing assigned political tasks. Typically, it has advised on improving the quality of dissemination, study, and propaganda of resolutions, directives, and conclusions of the Central and the province; the work of political theory education and propaganda of Party history has been innovated and organized effectively. At the same time, it has advised on the preliminary and final summaries of resolutions, directives, and conclusions of the Central and the province to ensure methodical and quality...

In addition, the Propaganda Department has proactively carried out propaganda, orientation, and press information processing; promptly grasped and oriented public opinion; directed the effective implementation of information, propaganda, foreign information, cultural and artistic activities; successfully organized national-level seminars; competitions and awards of the province... The Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department and Propaganda Department of localities and units have promoted the role of the 35 Provincial Steering Committees in the fight against and refuting false and hostile viewpoints and information, protecting the Party's ideological foundation; the work of grasping and orienting public opinion has been proactive and timely in informing the province's policies and directions to create unity within the Party and consensus in society...

The achievements of the Quang Ninh Propaganda Department in recent times have made important contributions to creating high unity of will and action in the entire Party Committee, consensus among cadres, party members and people of all walks of life, contributing to maintaining political stability, social order and safety, and successfully implementing political goals and tasks in the province.
