Currently, Mai Son district has 188 cooperatives, over 2,800 members, operating in many fields. Many cooperatives produce high-quality agricultural products, meeting market demand. Typically, Xuan Que Strawberry Cooperative, Co Noi commune, was established in 2017, with 18 members, with 50 hectares of strawberries. Since 2018, the entire strawberry growing area of the cooperative has been grown according to VietGAP standards, with an output of 1,000 tons/year, strawberry products consumed in domestic supermarkets and exported to some European countries. In the 2025 strawberry crop, revenue reached nearly 32 billion VND, creating jobs for 250 local workers who are Mong people. The average income of members reached 1 billion VND/year.

Mr. Nguyen Van Nam, Director of Xuan Que Strawberry Cooperative, shared: Initially, strawberry growers were spontaneous, without any linkage in product consumption, so prices were unstable and fruit quality was not high. Since the establishment of the cooperative, members have been trained in production according to VietGAP processes, focusing on linkage in consumption, so products are produced and consumed, with stable prices. In the 2024-2025 strawberry crop, the average profit is 350-500 million VND/ha. When the strawberry crop ends, switch to growing tomatoes, eggplants, and garlic, increasing the value of the cultivated area.

Mr. Nguyen Van Linh, a member of Xuan Que Strawberry Cooperative, shared: In the last strawberry crop, my family had 2 hectares of strawberries planted and cared for according to VietGAP process. The plants gave high yield, quality, large and beautiful fruit. After deducting expenses, the income was about 1 billion VND.

Ngoc Hoang Agricultural Cooperative, Sub-zone 7, Na Bo Commune, established in March 2016, has 215 members, growing more than 350 hectares of fruit trees of all kinds, including 300 hectares of dragon fruit, with an output of over 12,000 tons of fruit per year. In addition, the Cooperative has cooperated with more than 100 households in Thuan Chau, Moc Chau and Yen Chau districts, growing more than 100 hectares of dragon fruit. Mr. Nguyen Quang Vinh, Director of the Cooperative, said: The Cooperative regularly coordinates with specialized agencies to provide training and guidance on the technical process of planting and caring for dragon fruit trees in an organic direction for member households; encourages households to invest in automatic irrigation systems; actively participates in fairs, conferences to connect and promote trade, introduce and promote products to domestic and foreign customers. Currently, the Cooperative has been granted 2 codes for growing dragon fruit for export with an area of 70 hectares. Each year, the cooperative exports 10,000 tons of dragon fruit to China, South Korea and some EU countries. The average income of each member ranges from 300 million VND to 1 billion VND/year.

Cooperatives have developed 20 OCOP products, of which 10 products have achieved 4 stars.
