Accordingly, the general goal of the project is to build Phu Yen into a major tourism and service center in the region and the whole country; strive to make Phu Yen tourism an important highlight in the tourism development linkage between the Central Highlands and Central coastal provinces, creating a foundation for Phu Yen tourism to become a spearhead economic sector by 2030, making a great contribution to the province's economy, a "clean" industry with its own identity of Phu Yen and the region.
Specific targets, in terms of tourist arrivals, are to welcome over 4.5 million arrivals in 2025; by 2030, this number will be 7 million arrivals (of which, international arrivals will reach 600,000 arrivals, domestic arrivals will reach 6.4 million arrivals). By 2050, strive to welcome a total of over 30 million arrivals (of which, international arrivals will reach 9 million arrivals, domestic arrivals will reach 21 million arrivals).
Total tourism revenue in 2025 will reach about 11 trillion VND; in 2030, it will reach 20,000-23,000 billion VND; in 2050, this figure will be 77,000-186,000 billion VND. The tourism contribution to the province's GRDP structure will reach 7.4% in 2025, and 10%, striving to reach over 15% in GRDP by 2030.
The project also clearly indicates the orientations for tourism product development (groups of specific tourism products, groups of key tourism products, groups of complementary tourism products); orientations for tourism market development, tourism space; orientations for tourism investment development... At the same time, the project also clearly states the key tasks and solutions for tourism development in Phu Yen province in the period of 2025-2030, with a vision to 2050.
The project assigns the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism as the standing agency, responsible for monitoring and urging the implementation of the project by relevant agencies, units and localities; advising the Provincial People's Committee on specific plans to implement the project. Departments, branches, sectors, People's Committees of districts, towns and cities, based on their functions, tasks and actual situation of agencies, units and localities, coordinate with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to effectively implement the approved project.
Phu Yen Tourism Association promotes its role, strengthens connections, cooperation, and supports members in tourism business activities; cooperates with local Tourism Associations to expand connections of tours and routes, attract tourists to Phu Yen, promote and advertise product development, and expand the market.
