Talking about the film project "Cam", director Tran Huu Tan said: "In addition to being one of the stories with the most variations in the world , the Vietnamese version of Tam Cam also contains many details that are very potential for a horror version, which is our first great inspiration as storytellers. We have all heard more or less about the details of revenge: washing hair, removing shrimp, chopping areca nuts, making fish sauce... in most versions but have not had the opportunity to depict more deeply the story, personality and the events that drove the events to happen".

Producer Hoang Quan shared his passion: “With Cam, we want to explore with the audience a new perspective on a fairy tale on the big screen as well as once again bring Vietnamese cultural materials closer, strange yet familiar to audiences at home and abroad.”

To make "Cam" not just a simple work retelling the story of Tam Cam, director Tran Huu Tan and the crew of producer Hoang Quan aim to exploit the dark, mysterious corners and bring a unique horror experience to the audience, especially the young audience, through careful investment in the system of characters, a horror world imbued with Vietnamese culture with an impressive setting and a cast with convincing acting.

Through the first behind-the-scenes video , the "Cam" crew also revealed the identities of the talented cast including: actors Quoc Cuong, Tran Doan Hoang, Mai The Hiep, Meritorious Artist Ngoc Hiep, Meritorious Artist Hanh Thuy. Thereby, actor Quoc Cuong "Lat mat 6" plays the role of Hai Hoang - husband of "Stepmother" Thuy Diem, and also the biological father of Tam - Cam. With the character Hai Hoang, the U50 actor himself also expressed surprise at the horror of this character after each script update from the scriptwriting team.

Besides Hai Hoang, the character Bom played by young actor Tran Doan Hoang is also a new point in this version of Tam Cam. Bom is portrayed with a cunning, sometimes somewhat cunning and is a strange role in Doan Hoang's career. In addition, Meritorious Artist Hanh Thuy - who was loved by "Tet in the Hell Village" fans with the role of Thi Lam - also participated in the project with a breakthrough character named Bach Lao with a strange appearance, gender and origin in this horror version. In addition, actors Mai The Hiep in the role of Ong Ca Huong - Tam Cam's grandfather, the character Ba Tam - Tam Cam's aunt played by Meritorious Artist Ngoc Hiep will gradually have their roles revealed in the project.

Previously, the first four characters announced to appear in the project, who are also fans of the fairy tale Tam Cam, expressed their excitement in waiting for the day they will see the horror version of Tam Cam in theaters from the perspective of a Vietnamese movie audience.

To bring a quality experience, investing in finding the setting is equally important. Director Tran Huu Tan and his crew have found new settings that tell a story, suitable for the film's mysterious nature and increase its uniqueness and appeal to the audience. Therefore, in the journey to find the setting, the Cam crew chose the main setting to film in Quang Tri to bring cinematic footage for the first time to this land, a place blessed with many new and strange natural beauties, extremely suitable for the horror, fantasy and ancient style of "Cam".

"Cam" is a film project produced by the crew of "Tet in Hell Village" and "Soul Eater", directed by Tran Huu Tan and producer Hoang Quan. "Cam" is a bloody horror version of the famous fairy tale Tam Cam, scheduled to premiere on September 27, 2024.
