Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Tran Thanh Lam visited and congratulated the Association of the Elderly of Ben Tre province.
In recent times, the Elderly Associations at all levels in the province have operated stably, thoroughly grasped and agreed upon, and well implemented the Party's guidelines and the State's policies and laws, focusing on taking care of the lives and spirits of the elderly, especially the elderly in poor and near-poor households. The Association has also actively coordinated with functional agencies to organize longevity celebrations for the elderly, and provide social subsidies to the right subjects according to regulations. Thereby, the elderly are excited with the attention of the Party and the State, and feel secure in living happily, healthily, and usefully. The Association has also performed its work well, promptly recognized and commended exemplary elderly people, achieving the title "Elderly people with bright examples".
Speaking at the meeting, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Tran Thanh Lam reviewed the tradition of the Vietnamese elderly, the tradition of the nation always respecting the elderly, and affirmed the attention of the Party and State for the elderly, identifying the elderly as a precious capital, invaluable asset of the nation, contributing to the development of the country.

The Vietnamese Elderly Day is an occasion for the whole country, generations of party members and people to show their respect for the elderly. The Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee highly appreciates the practical activities of the Ben Tre Provincial Elderly Association in recent years in mobilizing resources to care for the elderly in the province and to encourage the elderly.
In the coming time, implementing the Party's general policy on organizational restructuring, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee requests the Provincial Association of the Elderly to pay attention to and implement the organizational restructuring according to the instructions of the Central Government and the province on schedule, without affecting the general activities of the association as well as the rights of its members. The province commits to accompany and be ready to support the elderly and wishes the elderly of Ben Tre province to live happily, healthily and long with their families and the community.
