During the meeting, when listening to People's Armed Forces Hero Ho Dac Thanh recall the arduous sea voyages, Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh expressed her emotion and deep gratitude for the sacrifices and contributions of previous generations. The ships without numbers overcame fierce waves, crossed the vast ocean, safely transported weapons and goods, creating the legend of the "Ho Chi Minh Trail at sea", contributing to bringing the resistance war against the US to complete victory.

Vice Chairman of the National Assembly wished Hero of the People's Armed Forces Ho Dac Thanh good health, to continue spreading the revolutionary spirit, inspiring today's young generation. Each story he told was a flame of enthusiasm, urging the young generation to constantly strive to rise up and contribute to the cause of building and developing the country.
Expressing his gratitude for the attention of the Party, State and National Assembly leaders, People's Armed Forces Hero Ho Dac Thanh said that this is not only an honor but also a motivation to continue contributing to the cause of protecting and building the Fatherland.
Phu Yen used to be an important area, chosen by the Central and Zone V to receive the unnumbered ships transporting weapons to support the Southern battlefield. During the period from November 1964 to February 1965, there were 4 ships arriving at Vung Ro port, of which 3 were successful, bringing about 200 tons of weapons and goods to the mainland.

Thanks to this timely support, the army and people of Phu Yen achieved many resounding victories, typically: the Go Thi Thung victory in 1966; the General Offensive and Uprising in the Spring of Mau Than in 1968; the Road 5 victory, and then coordinated with the main force to completely liberate Phu Yen province on April 1, 1975. These victories contributed to the great victory in the Spring of 1975, bringing the country to complete unification.
