Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Quoc Khanh visited the families of victims in the landslide in Sa Pa town.

On the afternoon of May 15, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Quoc Khanh visited, encouraged and presented support money to the family of Ms. Vu Thi L., a victim who died in the landslide that occurred the same morning in Cau May ward, Sa Pa town.

Participating in the working delegation of the Provincial People's Committee were leaders of the Department of Agriculture and Environment and leaders of Sa Pa town.

Visiting and presenting gifts to the victims' families, comrade Hoang Quoc Khanh sympathized with the relatives of the victims in the landslide, and encouraged the families to soon overcome the pain, overcome the consequences of the natural disaster, and stabilize their lives.

As Lao Cai Newspaper reported, after many hours of heavy rain, at 4:00 a.m. this morning (May 15), at Km1+700 of Provincial Road 152, through Group 3, Cau May Ward, Sa Pa Town, a landslide occurred. The volume of soil and rock of about 600 m³ flooded down, completely collapsing a level IV house, causing the death of Ms. Vu Thi L. (born in 1958).

Immediately after the incident, local authorities and the Lao Cai Provincial Road Maintenance Management Board coordinated with functional forces to search and rescue and ensure traffic.

Repair work is being urgently carried out to ensure safety for people and vehicles passing through the area.
