Permanent Vice Chairman of Mai Son Provincial People's Committee attended the 2569th Buddha's Birthday Ceremony at Phuc Son Pagoda

Attending the ceremony were: Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Long, Deputy Minister of Public Security ; Mai Son, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Dinh Duc Canh, Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee. The Buddha's Birthday is a great spiritual event for millions of monks, nuns, and Buddhists around the world , commemorating the birth of Buddha Shakyamuni. This is also an opportunity for each person to strive for the values: Truth, Goodness, Beauty, spreading compassion, love, harmony, and the spirit of serving the community.

In a solemn atmosphere, the Grand Ceremony took place with traditional rituals such as: Reading the Buddha's birthday message of the Supreme Patriarch of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha; burning incense; bathing the Buddha; praying for national peace and prosperity, world peace , and happiness for all living beings...

Speaking here, Comrade Mai Son sent his congratulations to the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, the Venerables, monks, nuns, and Buddhists, and acknowledged and highly appreciated the positive contributions of Vietnamese Buddhism in general and Buddhism in Bac Giang province in particular in the past time. In Bac Giang, monks, nuns, and Buddhists have had many practical activities contributing to socio-economic development, consolidating the great national unity bloc, building a rich and beautiful homeland; actively participating in patriotic emulation movements, building cultural life, and implementing well the policies of the Party and State.

Phuc Son Pagoda, also known as Phuc Son Co Tu or Ngo Xa Pagoda, is located on Phuong Hoang Mountain, Cao Xa Commune. The pagoda was built during the Le Trung Hung period (16th century), and is a place for religious and spiritual activities of the people of the ancient Kinh Bac region. During the resistance war, the pagoda was used as a place to discuss guerrilla plans, as a medical station, and as a temporary shelter for our army and people.
