Accompanying him were representatives of the Department of Agriculture and Environment; Finance, Construction; leaders of the Provincial Military Command; and the Provincial Standing Office for Disaster Prevention and Control.

Checking flood prevention situation in Tuy Phuoc Dong commune

In Tuy Phuoc Dong commune, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Duong Mah Tiep inspected the work of overcoming the consequences of the flood. According to the report of the Commune Civil Defense Command, the water level of the rivers is gradually receding, and traffic has been basically restored. However, some areas are still partially flooded from 0.2 to 0.4 m, temporarily isolating more than 70 households in low-lying villages.

Some sections of Provincial Road 640 through Tuy Phuoc Dong commune are still partially flooded.

At schools, only Phuoc Thang Primary School No. 2 (Lac Dien sub-cluster) is still slightly flooded, about 0.2 m. However, to prevent the flood situation from becoming more complicated in the coming time, the commune has developed contingency plans and encouraged people to agree to evacuate residents when the water rises above alert level 2.

Vice Chairman Duong Mah Tiep asked Tuy Phuoc Dong commune to closely monitor weather developments and be ready to respond to situations where heavy rain may recur.

Through the on-site inspection, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Duong Mah Tiep highly appreciated the proactive and responsible spirit of the government and people of Tuy Phuoc Dong commune in responding to and overcoming the consequences of floods. The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the locality to continue mobilizing forces to support people in cleaning their houses, clearing the flow, ensuring environmental sanitation; closely monitoring weather developments, being ready to respond to situations of heavy rain that may recur. At the same time, urgently restore production, ensure traffic safety, schools and public works. The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also reminded the local government not to let people go hungry or lack water after floods, and to soon stabilize their lives and production activities in the area.

In De Gi commune, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Duong Mah Tiep inspected the evacuation of households living in the landslide-prone area of ​​Nui Ganh in Duc Pho 1 village. According to records, immediately after the urgent announcement, the People's Committee of De Gi commune mobilized local forces, including militia, police, youth union and village officials, to urgently go to each household in the dangerous area to support the evacuation of people and property to a safe place. Means of transport such as cars and small trucks were prepared, ensuring the completion of the evacuation before the weather became more complicated.

Currently, households around the area at risk of landslides have been evacuated.

Up to now, all 15 households with 51 people in the high-risk landslide area in Nui Ganh have been moved to safe temporary shelters. During the evacuation process, local authorities have arranged forces to be on duty 24/7 in Nui Ganh area to monitor the situation, control people from returning to the dangerous area, and set up warning signs and block the entrances to the landslide area to ensure absolute safety for the people. In addition, localities in the landslide-risk area have proactively stocked up on food, clean water, medicine and essential necessities, preventing people from going hungry or lacking temporary shelter during the prolonged period of heavy rain and floods.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee praised the urgent and proactive spirit of the commune government and participating forces, and at the same time requested to continue to closely monitor the situation, not to let people return to dangerous areas when safety is not yet guaranteed, to take good care of the material and spiritual lives of affected households, and to be determined to ensure absolute safety for the people./.
