Here, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Duc Trung said that Nghe An province seriously implemented the direction of the Secretariat, the Prime Minister, and the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment in responding to and overcoming floods.

Nghe An province has issued many telegrams and announcements to proactively respond to storm No. 3 and floods caused by the storm's circulation. Provincial leaders have organized many delegations to inspect preparations for storm No. 3 in some key and vulnerable areas and urgently mobilized all forces and means to support the evacuation of people and property to safety with the view of absolutely protecting the safety of people's lives and property.
Reporting at the scene, Party Secretary and Chairman of the People's Council of Con Cuong commune Nguyen Hoai An said that due to heavy rain and floods, 24 villages and hamlets in the commune were flooded; of which 10 villages and hamlets were completely isolated, 5 villages and hamlets were partially isolated; but up to this point, there have been no human casualties.

To ensure the safety of people's lives, the Party Committee, government and the entire political system, military and police forces in the whole commune organized the evacuation of 2,000 people of 650 households and some valuable assets and livestock to a safe place.
In addition, the Khe Ran village road to Tan Hoa village; National Highway 7 to the Southwest Regional General Hospital; National Highway 7 (Lien Tan village - Block 7/8), Khe Kem waterfall road and some internal roads of blocks, villages and hamlets were flooded, the extent of damage has not yet been determined.
Reporting on flood response work, Party Secretary and Chairman of Con Cuong Commune People's Council Nguyen Hoai An reported that immediately after the heavy rain, the Commune's Steering Committee for Flood and Storm Prevention and Control urgently deployed synchronous response plans to minimize damage and ensure people's safety.

In particular, evacuate all residents to safe areas; organize the installation of warning signs, set up temporary checkpoints, and do not allow people to cross spillways when the water level rises and flows rapidly, to ensure absolute safety for people's lives.
Faced with the complicated situation of floods and storms, the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of Con Cuong commune continues to maintain its on-duty work, closely monitor the situation, and is ready to deploy disaster prevention and control plans according to the "4 on-site" motto to promptly respond to subsequent situations.
After listening to the report and inspecting the situation, Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh acknowledged and highly appreciated the proactive, positive and timely actions of Con Cuong commune in particular and Nghe An province in general in flood response and recovery.

In the spirit of ensuring absolute safety for people's lives and property, the Deputy Prime Minister requested Con Cuong commune and Nghe An province to continue to proactively monitor weather conditions and flood developments to develop timely response plans according to the "4 on-site" motto.
In particular, it is necessary to strictly follow the directive of the Central Party Secretariat, which is not to be subjective, and to urgently deploy plans to ensure the safety of people's lives and property and the State. The work of directing, urging, and inspecting storm prevention and control must be carried out regularly, proactively, and closely following reality.

In particular, we must proactively check vulnerable areas to avoid being passive in situations that may arise. Although it is not raining at the moment, we absolutely must not be subjective and let people go to the river or go through vulnerable areas.
Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh also requested the commune and provincial authorities to step up propaganda for people to comply with flood response measures, to ensure safety during complicated flood situations.

Local authorities and functional forces quickly found solutions to approach isolated households and villages to support people.
Encouraging the government and armed forces on duty to respond to and overcome the consequences of floods, Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh acknowledged the serious compliance with the direction of the Secretariat, ensuring to minimize the damage caused.

Next, Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh visited, encouraged and presented gifts to 3 households whose houses were completely flooded in Lien Tan village, Con Cuong commune.
Through this field inspection, the Deputy Prime Minister requested Nghe An province to study and determine the flood peak this time to make proposals and recommendations to the Central Government on investment in National Highway 7A traffic infrastructure, welfare projects and construction of safe residential areas.
