Lieutenant General Tran Duy Giang, Director of the General Department of Logistics attended the Conference; Lieutenant General Do Van Thien, Political Commissar of the General Department of Logistics chaired the Conference. Also attending were Major General Nguyen Hung Thang, Deputy Director, Chief of Staff of the General Department of Logistics; leaders and commanders of the General Department of Logistics; representatives of leaders and commanders of agencies and units under the General Department and specialized agencies and departments in the General Department.
Participating in the 23rd Creative Youth Award in the Army, the Youth of the General Department of Logistics had 22 works (8 topics, 14 initiatives) by 43 directors and research members from 12 agencies and units under the General Department.
Results: 14/22 works participating in the Award won prizes; including 2 Second prizes, 6 Third prizes and 6 Encouragement prizes. The General Department of Logistics is in the group of units with a high rate of winning prizes in the entire army. Currently, 14/14 works that won the Award have been applied in practice, practically contributing to improving the quality of performing political tasks of agencies and units. Among them, many works were assessed by the Council of the Creative Youth Award of the Ministry of National Defense as not only having practical value within the General Department of Logistics, but also having open directions for continued research and application within the entire army.
Speaking at the Conference, Lieutenant General Do Van Thien acknowledged, commended and congratulated the authors and groups of authors whose works won the 23rd Creative Youth Award in the Army; and emphasized: Currently and in the coming years, the fourth scientific and technological revolution continues to develop strongly, especially in the fields of: Digital technology; medicine; education , training and production, business; many global issues such as: Energy security, water resources, food; climate change, natural disasters, epidemics are arising and requiring the Army Logistics sector in general, the General Department of Logistics in particular, to focus on flexible and timely research and adaptation to meet the requirements of the mission.
Lieutenant General Do Van Thien requested that the competent authorities continue to research, advise and propose to the Standing Committee and the General Department Commander to issue policies, legal measures for leadership, direction and appropriate mechanisms and policies to maximize the potential and creativity of the General Department's youth in scientific research and technical innovation.
The Political Commissar of the General Department of Logistics hopes that the comrades whose works have won awards and been commended this time will continue to promote the results achieved, develop and apply the winning works into practice and continue to research new works; help and encourage cadres, union members and youth in their agencies and units to conduct scientific research and participate in the Creative Youth Award in the Army to achieve high prizes. Strive for the number of works participating in and winning the 24th Creative Youth Award in the Army to be higher than the 23rd Award and have works winning First Prize.
At the Conference, the Head of the General Department of Logistics awarded certificates of merit to 2 groups and 8 authors, the groups of authors whose works won second and third prizes; and awarded certificates of merit to 6 authors, the groups of authors whose works won consolation prizes.
