Phu Binh District Labor Federation awarded the decision to establish a grassroots trade union at Langshun Vietnam Industrial Co., Ltd. in Diem Thuy commune. |
Currently, Phu Binh district has over 300 private enterprises and cooperatives. According to Mr. Tran Van Tung, Chairman of the District Labor Federation: The development of non-state-owned trade unions faces many difficulties. Many business owners and workers do not fully understand the role and benefits that trade unions bring, so they are still hesitant to participate. In addition, most local businesses are small-scale, with a constantly fluctuating number of employees, so gathering union members and establishing trade unions is difficult.
Faced with that reality, the District Labor Federation identified propaganda as a key solution. Every year, in addition to proactively grasping the labor situation at enterprises, the District Labor Federation also coordinates with tax and social insurance agencies to review and count the number of enterprises eligible to join the trade union organization according to regulations.
Based on the collected data, the District Labor Federation advised the District Party Committee to issue a document directing the District People's Committee, grassroots Party committees, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and socio -political organizations to coordinate in propagating and mobilizing the establishment of non-state trade unions. At the same time, the Standing Committee of the District Labor Federation also assigned members to regularly meet with business owners to discuss and orient the role and benefits of establishing grassroots trade unions.
Along with the above solutions, Phu Binh Labor Federation has well organized and implemented activities to care for and protect the legitimate interests of union members and workers. From there, it aims to strengthen trust, create cohesion between union members and unions at all levels, and attract more workers to join the union organization. Specifically, on the occasion of Lunar New Year or Workers' Month, the District Labor Federation organizes gift giving to union members and workers, especially those in difficult circumstances.
For example, during the Lunar New Year 2025, the District Trade Union presented 300 gifts to workers and laborers in difficult circumstances; presented 2,000 free shopping vouchers at the Trade Union Tet market; provided free health examinations, tests and consultations to over 1,000 workers. In addition, 100% of grassroots trade unions also presented Tet gifts to union members and workers.
The grassroots union of Thi Van Pharmaceutical Company Ltd., Huong Son town (Phu Binh), was newly established with 32 members. |
In addition, the leaders of the District Labor Federation also regularly visit and work at enterprises to promptly share and encourage the units in production and business. At the same time, grasp the thoughts and aspirations of workers to have solutions to support and accompany enterprises in caring for the lives and benefits of workers.
From 2023 to present, Phu Binh District Labor Federation has mobilized the establishment of 6 non-state-owned trade unions. Up to now, the whole district has 12 non-state-owned trade unions (accounting for 10.8% of the total number of trade unions), with nearly 600 union members. After being established, the trade unions have operated effectively, organized well activities to care for the material and spiritual life of workers; 100% of units have signed collective labor agreements. |
Mr. Tran Van Thanh, Chairman of the Trade Union of Thi Van Pharmaceutical Company Limited, Huong Son Town, said: The company's trade union was officially established in early 2025 with 32 union members. After its establishment, employees felt more secure in their rights to salary, bonus, and insurance. The Board of Directors also proactively coordinated with the trade union to build a collective labor agreement, ensuring clear and transparent policies.
Ms. Tu Thi Thuy, Chairwoman of the Trade Union of Langshun Vietnam Industrial Co., Ltd., Diem Thuy Commune: Previously, workers in the company mainly focused on work, with few opportunities to interact and connect with each other. Since the union was established at the end of 2024, we have regularly organized exchange activities on the occasion of major holidays, giving birthday gifts to union members... Thanks to that, the spirit of solidarity between workers and laborers has become increasingly strong, and the working atmosphere has also become more exciting and exciting.
Talking about the goals in the coming time, Mr. Tran Van Tung, Chairman of Phu Binh District Labor Federation said: From now until the end of the year, the District Labor Federation strives to establish at least 2 more non-state-owned trade unions and grassroots unions. To do that, we will continue to closely coordinate with state management agencies and local authorities to mobilize qualified enterprises to establish trade unions. In addition, the District Labor Federation also focuses on training and fostering grassroots trade union cadres to improve their capacity to mobilize and gather workers.
