Vice President of An Giang Provincial Women's Union Quang Le Hong Chuyen awarded the prize of the contest "Excellent propagandists participating in solving some social issues related to women"
Vice President of the An Giang Provincial Women's Union Quang Le Hong Chuyen said that in recent times, Party committees and authorities at all levels have paid attention to and directed all levels and sectors to actively implement many policies, programs, plans, projects, etc. to improve women's lives. In particular, the implementation of Project 938 has received close attention, guidance and direction from the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union, the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Committee, along with the support of departments, branches, sectors, unions and Party committees and authorities at all levels. Project 938 is in the middle of phase II, initially promoting the proactive role of women in participating in solving social issues related to women and children; contributing to solving social issues arising in the post-COVID-19 period, as well as other related issues in society.
From 2022 to present, the Provincial Women's Union has organized community communication on contents related to Project 938, at 50 locations in 11 districts, towns and cities in the province, attracting 2,060 members and women to participate. In addition, the Women's Union at all levels has proactively integrated the implementation of Task 01 of the Project with movements, campaigns, projects, with 7,388 communication sessions, attracting 189,314 members and women to participate. Thereby, contributing to raising the awareness and behavior of members and women in complying with the law, proactively detecting and participating in the process of resolving cases related to women and children; effectively protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of women and children.
The Provincial Project 938 Steering Committee directs member departments, branches and sectors and the District Project Steering Committee to focus on building, consolidating and replicating effective models; supporting the building of happy families as a bridge to convey information, exchange and share issues on family lifeeducation , compliance with gender equality laws, prevention and control of domestic violence, life organization skills, health care, communication and behavior, parenting skills, raising, educating, protecting children and building good relationships in the family. The models are regularly consolidated, the quality of activities are improved, replicated and attract the participation of cadres, members, women and people.
Over the past 3 years, the Provincial Women's Union has established 11 Community Legal Advisory Groups; 5 model groups for educating parents on how to raise good children; 16 Women's Groups participating in food safety and hygiene; 22 communication points to raise awareness of food safety and educate parents on how to raise good children... The associations at all levels continue to consolidate, improve the quality of activities and expand and promote effectiveness, such as: Legal Aid Advisory Group, Healthy Child Raising and Good Child Education Group; Community Child Support Group, Safety Group for Women and Disadvantaged Children... In addition, departments and branches have expanded the model of "Legal Bookcase in the Community" in particularly difficult communes; maintained and expanded the model of "Trusted Address - Shelter" in the community; maintained the model of preventing and combating domestic violence; trusted addresses in the community...
The Provincial Women's Union regularly organizes training courses, contributing to the achievement of the target of fostering professional capacity, expertise and skills to support women in solving priority social issues of the project. In addition, the requirement to improve the capacity of staff is one of the factors contributing to ensuring the success of the project. In addition, the union at all levels has done a good job of protecting the legitimate rights and interests of women and children in the locality, actively participating in consulting, conciliating and resolving complaints and denunciations related to women and children. Effectively maintaining legal consultancy activities to promptly advise and support cases of violations of women's rights and interests.
Vice President of the An Giang Provincial Women's Union Quang Le Hong Chuyen said that in the 2025 - 2027 period, the Provincial Steering Committee of Project 938 will continue to direct member departments, branches and sectors to focus on intervention contents and support activities suitable for the subjects, localities, cultural characteristics and socio-economic conditions of each locality. The Women's Union at all levels will continue to promote its role as the Standing Agency of Project 938 in advising the People's Committees at the same level to implement the Project in the locality, ensuring adherence to the set goals. Strengthen propaganda work focusing on key areas, remote areas, ethnic minority areas, groups of women and girls in special circumstances. Continue to organize training and foster capacity building for staff performing the task of supporting women to solve related social issues. In addition, promote research and propose feasible solutions; Effectively promote existing models to improve the quality of support and protection of the legitimate rights and interests of women, especially women and children who have suffered domestic violence, abuse and trafficking...
