On the afternoon of March 8, hundreds of students in Ho Chi Minh City gathered at Ho Chi Minh City University of Education to listen to speakers share about their career building process as well as their strong ties with the Francophone community.


Ho Chi Minh City students arrived very early to participate in the discussion.
Attending the event were Ms. Emmanuelle Pavillon-Grosser - Consul General of France in Ho Chi Minh City. Speakers included: Associate Professor, Dr. Phan Thi Ha Duong - Executive Director of Vingroup Innovation Fund, researcher at the Institute of Mathematics, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology; Ms. Mai Ngoc Hanh - President of French Tech Vietnama and Dr. Bui Tran Phuong - Historian specializing in the history of Vietnamese women.
Sharing at the seminar, Dr. Cao Anh Tuan - Vice Principal of Ho Chi Minh City University of Education, said that women are increasingly asserting their role, women participate in all aspects of society, including political activities and scientific research. In the field of education, female teachers have performed very well the role of "ferrymen", leading many generations of students to become successful.
"The seminar is an opportunity for students to learn and discuss the challenges and opportunities in the new era, thereby enhancing the position and power of women in society. In addition, organizing the seminar in a bilingual format of French - Vietnamese helps students improve their listening and speaking skills in French more" - Dr. Cao Anh Tuan shared.

At the seminar, speakers emphasized the role of gender equality. When women get married, they will face more difficulties than men in studying and building a career. Most women are distracted by worrying about their families.
Speakers said that policymakers in each country must set up regulations to facilitate and encourage women to develop. On the other hand, men also need to sympathize with women, helping them overcome invisible pressures.

Students are provided with translation machines for easy follow-up.

The Organizing Committee sent flowers to thank the French Consulate General in Vietnam and speakers on the occasion of International Women's Day, March 8.
Associate Professor, Dr. Phan Thi Ha Duong believes that in recent years, women have had a new perspective on life, more open-minded and dynamic thinking. Many women are successful and have a place in society.
"Balancing life is very important, helping women not feel pressured by work and family. To do so, women need to break free from old thinking, live according to their "own style" and constantly improve their knowledge" - Ms. Phan Thi Ha Duong said.
