Phu Tho urgently directs the Cultural-Tourism Week of the Ancestral Land during the 2-day National Funeral of the former President of Laos

On the night of April 3, the People's Committee of Phu Tho province issued urgent document 1539/UBND-KGVX on the implementation of the Special Announcement on the State funeral of former Lao President Khamtay Siphandone.

Previously, in a special announcement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it was stated: To express condolences to former Lao President Khamtay Siphandone and based on the special Vietnam-Laos relationship, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the National Assembly, the President, the Government and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front decided to hold a national mourning period for Mr. Khamtay Siphandone from April 4 to 5.

Accordingly, Phu Tho province requires agencies and offices in the province to fly flags at half-mast during the two days of national mourning.

Agencies, units, organizations, individuals, and entertainment establishments must stop or postpone organizing art programs and public entertainment activities in the area during these two days.

Regarding activities within the framework of the Cultural - Tourism Week of the Ancestral Land in the year of At Ty 2025 that were previously approved, Phu Tho province assigned the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Hung Temple Historical Relic Site, People's Committees of districts, towns, cities and agencies, units, organizations, individuals, and entertainment establishments to stop, postpone or delay the organization of public art, entertainment and recreation activities.

The Hung Kings' Commemoration Anniversary and the Cultural - Tourism Week of the Ancestral Land in the year of At Ty 2025 will take place from March 29 to April 7 (ie from March 1 to 10, At Ty year) in Viet Tri city, Hung Temple historical relic site and localities at the provincial level.

The organization of the Hung Kings' Commemoration Anniversary and the Cultural - Tourism Week of the Ancestral Land in the year of At Ty aims to educate the tradition of patriotism, deep gratitude to the Hung Kings and ancestors who have contributed to building and defending the country; and to educate the traditional morality of "When drinking water, remember its source".
