Phu Tho suffered a lot of damage due to heavy rain and the impact of flood discharge from hydroelectric reservoirs.

From July 2024 to now, there have been many heavy rains in the province, some places have very heavy rains, the average total rainfall is from 300-600mm, some places over 700mm combined with flood discharge from hydroelectric reservoirs, causing damage in some localities.

From 7:00 p.m. on August 11, 2024 to 6:00 a.m. on August 12, 2024, some places in the province had heavy rain such as: Hanh Cu (Thanh Ba) 54.2mm; Nang Yen (Thanh Ba) 53.8mm; Ha Hoa 34.6mm; Dong Linh (Thanh Ba) 33.6mm; Thanh Ba 30.6mm...

Due to the impact of the rain from July 28 to August 6 and the flood discharge from Tuyen Quang and Thac Ba hydroelectric reservoirs, some damages occurred in Doan Hung district: landslides on the road slope in Dong Duong area, Hung Xuyen commune; subsidence on the inter-commune road from Hung Long to Van Don; subsidence and cracking of provincial road 323 at Ca Lo culvert location in Hung Long commune; landslides on the slope of 7 households and 1 landslide point at Bang Luan commune Credit Fund; collapsed fences of 2 households in Hung Xuyen commune; 50m2 of the corrugated iron roof of Doan Hung district People's Court headquarters was blown away; landslides on Ngoi Han riverbed in Dong Duong area, Hung Xuyen commune affected 1 household. Riverbank erosion occurred at 5 locations in Hung Xuyen and Phu Lam communes. At the same time, over 9.7 hectares of corn and vegetables were flooded; 3 specialty fish cages on Chay river of 3 households in Phu Lam commune were broken.

In addition, some households raising fish in cages in Thanh Thuy district suffered losses of more than 1 billion VND after the Hoa Binh hydroelectric reservoir released floodwaters.

In Tan Son district, due to the impact of thunderstorms in the district on August 1, a landslide occurred on the inter-commune road from Minh Thuan bridge to Vinh Quang area, Minh Dai commune; on August 8, at the above location, about 1,000m3 of rock and soil continued to slide, the location has blocked the road with a length of about 25m, affecting the tea cultivation land of Phu Da Tea Company and a medium voltage electric pole.

Immediately after the disaster occurred, the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Control and Search and Rescue of Doan Hung and Tan Son districts inspected the situation, directed the People's Committees of communes and towns, specialized departments and offices to grasp the situation and count the damage; mobilize forces to overcome the consequences according to the motto "4 on-site".
