On March 16, on social network Facebook, information was shared along with a clip recording the incident of the driver and assistant bus conductor of bus route 22A, license plate: 29B-20713 helping a young girl whose pocket was pickpocketed, causing a stir in public opinion.
According to shared information, the driver of route 22A with license plate 29B-207.13 of Cau Buu bus company, when discovering that a girl getting on the bus at Long Bien transfer point (Ba Dinh district, Hanoi ) had her phone stolen, informed the girl. After that, the bus assistant jumped off the bus and chased after the pickpocket, caught him, recovered the phone and returned it to the young girl.

The information and clip above were shared quickly and attracted public opinion. Most of the comments praised the good actions of the driver and assistant of bus route 22.
Regarding the incident, on the same day, speaking with Dan Tri reporter, Mr. Ngo Van Hung - Director of Cau Buu Bus Company confirmed the information and said that the bus driver in the incident was Mr. Tran Thai Tuan (born in 1972) and the bus assistant was Mr. Nguyen Van Tung (born in 1992).
According to Mr. Hung, the incident happened at around 2:38 p.m. on March 12, at the Long Bien transit point (Ba Dinh district, Hanoi).
"The incident happened a few days ago. When we learned about it, we commended and rewarded the driver and bus conductor on the above bus route with 500,000 VND each to encourage our staff," said Mr. Hung.
According to Mr. Hung, when the incident happened, the driver and bus conductor thought it was a normal action so they did not report it to the unit.
Speaking further with Dan Tri reporter, Mr. Tran Thai Tuan - bus driver said that at the time of the incident, based on his experience, he observed that there were 3 people stepping on the front door of the bus, however, there was a suspicious subject who just stood at the front door and refused to get on the bus.
"After the two passengers got into the bus, I immediately asked everyone if anyone had lost anything, and a young girl said she had lost her phone. I immediately told the bus conductor to chase after the suspicious person and got the phone back for the young girl," said Mr. Tuan.
According to Mr. Tuan, bad guys often appear at the Long Bien transit area. Based on his many years of driving experience, he can see the guys who intend to steal things from bus passengers.
After the incident, Mr. Tuan and the bus conductor received thanks from the young girl. Mr. Tuan shared that this was a normal job so he did not report it to the company.
