In the future, Phu Yen will become an important highlight in the tourism development linkage between the Central Highlands and Central Coast provinces; at the same time, it will become a major tourism and service center in the region and the whole country. Tourism will be a spearhead economic sector and a comprehensive economic sector, creating a driving force for the overall socio-economic development of the province.
Exploiting tourism potential well
Tuy Hoa city has a beautiful beach. This place is increasingly attracting tourists with its attractive and novel experience services. Besides Nghinh Phong tower, famous for its awards for landscape and architecture at home and abroad, along the coast, there are currently check-in points with impressive and lively designs. Many young people coming here are extremely excited to explore Tuy Hoa beach with a new breeze.
Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Han (from Ho Chi Minh City) shared that she really enjoyed coming to the coastal city of Tuy Hoa during the hot summer days. The sea here is clear, blue with a long sandy beach. Along the coast, there are many convenient dining and resort services, so she and her family chose to stay a few more days to enjoy the beauty here. The city also has delicious, cheap and diverse culinary spots.
According to Mr. Nguyen Buu Loc, Manager of Phu Yen Tourist Company, in recent years, the number of tourists coming to Tuy Hoa city to visit the attractions has increased. Therefore, the Company invested in check-in points along the coast for tourists to capture beautiful moments here. In addition to the criteria of novelty and uniqueness to create attraction, the company focuses on investing in safety equipment for tourists when they come here to visit and swim.
In recent years, famous tourist destinations of Phu Yen such as Nghinh Phong Tower, Nhan Tower, Ganh Da Dia, Bai Mon - Mui Dien, Mang Lang Church... have attracted a large number of tourists, especially during holidays and Tet. This is a good sign for the province to continue to set the goal of developing the tourism industry, becoming a key economic sector and a highlight in the tourism connection between the Central Highlands and the Central Coast.

According to statistics from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Phu Yen province, during the April 30 and May 1, 2025 holidays (from April 30 to May 4), the whole province will have 85,000 visitors coming to visit and relax, an increase of 55% over the same period in 2024; including 1,150 international visitors. Total revenue from tourists is estimated at 185 billion VND, an increase of 41% over the same period in 2024. Tourists to Phu Yen mainly come from the Central Highlands provinces, Hanoi city and neighboring provinces.
Vice Chairman of Phu Yen Provincial People's Committee Dao My said that in addition to building attractive tourist destinations, the province also focuses on organizing cultural and sports events of national and regional significance to attract tourists, especially international visitors.
Recently, when hosting the 2025 Asian Women's Beach Volleyball Championship in Tuy Hoa, the province promoted its tourism image to domestic and international friends. The locality continued to invest in infrastructure and prepare to ensure conditions to host more major events at the beach. At the same time, specialized agencies reviewed restaurant, hotel, and entertainment services to ensure the best conditions for tourists.
Diversified tourism products
In the Phu Yen Province Tourism Development Project for the period 2025 - 2030, with a vision to 2050, which has just been approved by the Provincial People's Committee, the locality strives to turn tourism into a spearhead economic sector and a comprehensive economic sector, creating a driving force for the province's socio-economic development. Phu Yen will have a synchronous, modern infrastructure and tourism service system rich in cultural identity. Thereby, it will strongly promote the province's economic restructuring towards modernization, gradually increasing the contribution of the service - tourism sector to the total product in the area (GRDP); creating a driving force to promote the development of other industries and sectors.
The province aims to attract over 7 million tourists by 2030, including 600,000 international visitors; revenue will reach about 20,000 - 23,000 billion VND. By 2050, the province will attract over 30 million visitors, including 9 million international visitors; revenue will reach about 77,000 - 186,000 billion VND. The locality strives for 100% of tourism service establishments to apply clean technology to ensure environmental hygiene standards.

Vice Chairman of Phu Yen Provincial People's Committee Dao My said that in the coming time, the province will build unique and distinctive tourism products, creating its own brand and having high competitiveness. In particular, priority will be given to developing the product group "Phu Yen Tourism - Natural Heritage and Stone Cultural Heritage" associated with Phu Yen Geopark into a unique tourism product of significance at the South Central Coast region and national level. The product group "Ecotourism, mountain lake resort" will also be focused on by the province to develop into a unique local tourism product.
Regarding the main tourism product groups, the province promotes 4 product lines, including: Sea and island tourism; cultural tourism; agricultural - rural tourism; eco-tourism. In addition, Phu Yen develops complementary tourism groups such as: community tourism, river tourism, urban night tourism, adventure sports tourism, culinary tourism, resort tourism... to exploit the province's diverse and unique resources to the fullest.
To achieve the set goals in tourism development, the province has implemented key tasks and solutions such as: Building Phu Yen Geopark towards the title of UNESCO Global Geopark; building a dossier to submit to UNESCO for recognition of Ganh Da Dia as a world natural heritage. The province innovates the management model of relic sites and scenic spots; bids to select businesses providing products and services; builds Phu Yen tourism brand identity; establishes a project to develop specific products; implements digital transformation of the tourism industry; improves the quality of transportation services in the tourism industry; promotes environmental protection in tourism activities...
