Meritorious Artist Si Tien said that the funeral and memorial service for artist Hoang Phuc Dzi will be held starting at 7:30 a.m. on December 15 at the Funeral Home of Friendship Hospital.
Talking to Dan Tri reporter, mime artist Hoang Tung shared that since he was a child, he really enjoyed watching artist Hoang Phuc Dzi perform at the Youth Theater.
Later, when he returned to work at the theater, he was fortunate to be taught pantomime by artist Hoang Phuc Dzi. When he studied this subject in depth, artist Hoang Phuc Dzi followed him and supported him a lot in terms of knowledge and skills... He often called the male artist "uncle".

"I see that you are very happy to have a generation to continue your profession. You send me videos of your performances wherever you go. Every time I meet you, I take the opportunity to ask about Vietnamese pantomime during your time. You are a "living witness" of pantomime in Vietnam.
The last time we met, I half-jokingly said, "If you have any documents, please pass them on to me." And he gave me a few books...", artist Hoang Tung shared.
Hoang Tung added that in real life, artist Hoang Phuc Dzi is a gentle and quiet person. Especially when teaching students, Hoang Phuc Dzi always gently guides and does not "raise the bar" so students really respect him.
Artist Hoang Phuc Dzi (aka Hoang Phuc Dy) was born in 1944, worked at Tuoi Tre Theater from 1982 to 2004.
The Youth Theatre was the first unit in Vietnam to organize a basic training course on pantomime. At that time, this art form appeared sporadically in the country on a modest scale. The first face to pursue pantomime was artist Dang Dung (Central Music and Dance Theatre), then it was the turn of the Youth Theatre.
Drama actor Phuc Dzi was selected by the Ministry of Culture to study in France for 3 years with the idea of "taking the lead" in this potential stage art form. After the course, artist Phuc Dzi returned to become the main lecturer of the intermediate pantomime class opened by the Youth Theater in 1982.
He and artists such as Ke Doan, Dang Dung, Bich Ngoc... are considered to be the ones who founded pantomime and are excellent pantomime performers in Vietnam.
