A new method to promote trade between Vietnam and the US has just been signed by businesses of the two countries in Washington DC, the US capital. Notably, this agreement is implemented through social networking platforms - a direction that is opening up the expectation of transactions reaching 50 billion USD within the next 10 years.
The combination of social networks and e-commerce is assessed to be able to create new competitive advantages, support trade balance and expand access to goods between the two countries.
At the signing ceremony between Viptam Technology Company of Vietnam, Inlog Group and suppliers and distributors in the US, the parties agreed to promote the purchase and sale of goods between Vietnam and the US through the multimedia social network Vdone developed by Viptam in both countries. In the next two years, the target is to reach 1 billion USD, of which Vietnam exports 500 million USD and imports 500 million USD. Inlog ensures the supply chain, connecting with manufacturers, importers, exporters, delivery and distributors in the US.
Mr. Jeff Griffis - President of Inlog Group, USA said: "We have just signed the first agreement worth 100 million USD, which is part of a total contract of 50 billion USD. All goods worth 100 million USD will arrive in Vietnam before the end of this year. Currently, there are many American products that are not available in Vietnam, so we will focus on what Vietnam does not have and needs."
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tuan - Chairman of the Board of Directors, General Director of VIPTAM Group commented: "Users in Vietnam can buy products from the US and Americans can buy products from Vietnam, that is the solution model for us to participate in the strategy of fairness and trade balance between the two countries".
Both sides believe that the combination of social networks and e-commerce will create competitiveness in the market. And when the two countries reach agreements on trade and tariffs, this model will have a lot of room for development in both countries.
The Vietnamese market is witnessing a shift from traditional trade to e-commerce. The cooperation of domestic trading platforms with foreign partners not only promotes two-way trade, but is also considered to contribute to the sustainable and safe development of e-commerce in Vietnam.
