The Tra My Region 3 Defense Command said: The heavy rain and floods caused the water level of the Truong River and the Oa River, flowing through Tra My and Tra Tan communes (Da Nang), to rise, cutting off traffic and isolating many residential areas, including Tan Hiep village. The rising water level left 8 households with more than 40 people unable to evacuate in time and isolated for many hours.

While commanding the forces to help people in vulnerable areas, Lieutenant Colonel Pham Van Hau, Political Commissar of the Defense Command of Region 3, Tra My immediately went to the scene, grasped the situation, and mobilized support forces. Along with that, the unit transported more than 30 boxes of instant noodles, dry food, and drinking water to support isolated households.

Faced with the strong flood currents, carrying away many bushes and rubbish from the mountains, the possibility of using aluminum boats and motorboats to rescue people would be unsafe. Assessing the situation, Lieutenant Colonel Pham Van Hau proposed to the locality, asking private enterprises to support drones to deliver relief goods to the people.

Meanwhile, in Tran Duong village (Tra My commune), rising river water flooded a major road nearly 500 meters long, with some places being more than 1.5 meters deep, seriously affecting the lives of hundreds of households.

Thanks to the initiative of the “4 on-the-spot” motto, the army, militia, and police have assisted people in flooded areas to evacuate to safety and helped people in deeply flooded areas to list their belongings. Caring for people in times of danger and hardship, the affection and responsibility of Uncle Ho’s soldiers warmed the hearts of people in the midst of dangerous jungle rain.
