Over the past 50 years, Bangladesh-Vietnam bilateral relations have developed strongly in many areas such as trade, investment, agriculture , culture, education, connectivity, etc.
This is the comment of Mr. Najmul Huda, Director of the Southeast Asia Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh, when answering an interview with VNA reporters in South Asia on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the official establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Bangladesh (February 11, 1973 - February 11, 2023).
Mr. Najmul Huda affirmed that Bangladesh and Vietnam maintain good bilateral relations. The friendship that began 50 years ago has now developed into a strong partnership marked by mutual trust, confidence and cooperation.
Mr. Najmul Huda said Bangladesh is maintaining stability and orienting socio-economic development by improving the living standards of its people and thus contributing to peace, stability and development in the region.
Vietnam's remarkable socio-economic development and its role as a creative force are also a source of inspiration for Bangladesh.
The traditional friendship between the two peoples, together with the exchange of high-level visits, has created greater momentum for bilateral relations.
Over the past 50 years, bilateral relations have developed strongly in trade, investment, agriculture, culture, education, connectivity, etc.
Regarding the potential for cooperation between the two countries in the coming time, Director General Najmul Huda stated that Bangladesh wants to renew and reaffirm its commitment to optimally utilizing existing cooperation potentials in many fields.

Priority sectors may include agriculture, pharmaceutical exports from Bangladesh, Vietnamese investment in Bangladesh's special economic zones, information technology and e-commerce, textiles, direct air connectivity, promotion of jute and jute goods, banking, tourism, etc.
The two countries can create the most favorable business environment for their enterprises to expand investment and business in each country.
Besides, Director General Najmul Huda emphasized that located at the crossroads of South Asia and Southeast Asia, Bangladesh wishes to contribute more actively to connecting the two fast-growing regions by promoting more institutional engagement with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
To this end, Bangladesh hopes to quickly achieve the status of ASEAN Sectoral Dialogue Partner. Bangladesh looks forward to receiving valuable support and facilitation from Vietnam in this regard./.
