Building an "AI-enabled" work environment.

In recent events within the Human Resources management industry in Vietnam, the aspect of business transformation in the AI era has frequently been a topic of discussion.

Participating in the Vietnam HR Summit 2025 in September and The Makeover 2025: Sailing Ahead in October, Ms. Van Thi Hong Hanh, HR Director of Home Credit Vietnam, emphasized the need for an AI-driven yet people-focused work environment, with personalized HR policies to motivate the team to develop and contribute to the future of the business.

According to Ms. Hanh, this is even more important as Generation Z and Alpha – highly tech-savvy individuals – are joining the workforce.

In the context of AI reshaping many industries, including consumer finance, Ms. Hanh stated that Home Credit is not immune to this transformation. However, for her, AI is not changing jobs, but redefining "the meaning of going to work." And the biggest challenge is how to maintain human values in a non-linear and technology-dominated world like today.

In her observation, the skills gap is widening as AI and automation change jobs faster than the workforce can adapt, leaving employees both hopeful and fearful of losing their jobs.

This forces businesses to change their human resource management approach, focusing on building trust, developing capabilities, and cultivating new skills for their teams. This is not just an operational solution, but also a solid preparation for the future, where people and technology must go hand in hand. At Home Credit, this journey began with a change in leadership mindset, with corporate culture as the foundation. From the management level, they clearly understood that AI is not a threat but a tool to eliminate repetitive tasks, allowing the team to focus on more strategic and creative work.

Accordingly, Ms. Hanh argued that the Human Resources Director should play the role of an IT Director in human resource management, leading the digital transformation of people, ensuring that AI is applied in a humane, transparent, and empowering manner.

With a vision to build a workplace driven by AI but centered around human resources, preserving "human values" and investing in the next generation, Home Credit identifies corporate culture and the meaning of work as new competitive advantages to retain talent.

As a result, according to a 2025 survey, the company recorded that 96% of employees were proud to tell others that they worked at Home Credit. The eNPS index, measuring employee satisfaction across the company, reached 80 points. Notably, the employee retention rate has consistently improved year after year and is among the top performers in the consumer finance industry in Vietnam.

Personalize HR policies.

Another major story, according to Ms. Hanh, is multigenerational management. Home Credit currently has over 45% of its employees under 30 years old – bringing new energy, innovative thinking, and a pioneering spirit, but at the same time requiring the creation of a work environment that can combine the dynamism of young personnel with the expertise of experienced staff. This necessitates the company to personalize the employee experience, rather than applying the same template to everyone.

"We realized that, within the same organization, it's impossible to apply a single policy to everyone. Each generation has its own expectations and motivations, and our task is to create an environment where they can develop in their own way," Ms. Hanh shared.

That's why Home Credit doesn't apply a uniform policy, but focuses on diversifying the experience to suit the needs of multi-generational employees. This includes building career paths, flexible working hours, diverse forms and subjects of learning, as well as talent scouting and development programs like Home Racer…

The company designs its own employee benefits programs that are highly practical and meaningful, focusing on mental health, family support, and financial literacy, such as Home Sport, Home Smart, and Family Insurance…

“In the AI era, the most important thing is not what we know today, but how quickly we learn to keep up with tomorrow. Therefore, let's ensure that our organizations always foster curiosity, encourage continuous learning, and drive innovation fast enough to not only adapt, but also lead in creating new value for our employees,” Ms. Hanh said.
