According to a VNA reporter in Hong Kong (China), the 38th Hong Kong International Travel Expo (ITE-2024) is taking place at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from June 13-16.
With the theme “Rediscover the world,” more than 500 participating units from over 60 countries and regions actively promoted their own unique features and explored new tourism development models.
With the desire to expand the source of potential Hong Kong and international tourists, in addition to the Vietnam Airlines Branch in Hong Kong, which is an annual participant, 2024 is the first year after the pandemic that more Vietnamese businesses in the tourism and hotel sector will participate, such as Hoang Tra Tourism Company, La Veranda Resort Phu Quoc and Caravelle Saigon Hotel.
Vietnamese businesses have jointly promoted the beautiful natural landscapes including many top destinations such as Hanoi, Phu Quoc, Da Nang, Hoi An as well as Vietnam's culinary paradises... to tourists and industry representatives.
Speaking to a VNA reporter in Hong Kong, Mr. Ngo Tri Hung, Head of Vietnam Airlines' Hong Kong Branch, said the number of units participating in this year's exhibition is larger than in previous years.

The theme “Rediscover the World” is a policy of the Hong Kong government to encourage Hong Kong tourists and workers to travel abroad.
According to data from the Hong Kong Tourism Board, before the epidemic, although Hong Kong's population was only 7.5 million, about 25 million people traveled abroad by air.
According to Mr. Ngo Tri Hung, this is a very potential market, Hong Kong people have a fairly high average income per capita and furthermore the distance between Hong Kong and Vietnam is very close, only 1.5-2 hours flight.
Hong Kong agents and people consider the Vietnamese market to have great potential.
Recently, the Vietnamese Government has introduced the electronic visa (e-visa) policy and Hong Kong people highly appreciate this policy. Vietnam Airlines and relevant agencies have also promoted Vietnam's e-visa policy, guiding agents and people to conveniently apply for e-visa.
Ms. Ta Le Thanh from Hoang Tra Tourism Company (Ho Chi Minh City) shared that this was the first time the company participated in the Fair and hoped that through this, it could find more customers and promote Vietnam's scenic spots to friends in Hong Kong and the world.
Meanwhile, Ms. Le Thi Thuy Trang, Deputy Director of Sales and Marketing of Caravelle Saigon Hotel, said that this was the first time the business participated in the fair and wished to take this opportunity to bring the image of Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh City and Caravelle Saigon closer to friends around the world and this was also an opportunity to study and exchange with units in the same industry around the world.
Ms. Koko Ko, a Hong Kong resident, shared that she gained a lot of information about e-visa policy, tourist attractions, Vietnamese cuisine, and how to travel by air when visiting this Tourism Fair.
The travel guides distributed at the fair were really useful for visitors. Exhibitors brought the latest tourism products to promote local advantages such as sustainable tourism, research tourism, ice and snow tourism, etc.
