Smart tourism development
Since 2020, Ba Ria-Vung Tau has used automatic Audio Guide at relics and destinations. To date, 170 relics, scenic spots, and destinations across the province have been equipped with QR codes. Visitors only need to scan the QR code attached to the relics to listen to automatic narration in 7 languages: English, Korean, Japanese, French, Russian, Chinese, and Vietnamese.
Ba Ria-Vung Tau also applies VR360 virtual reality technology for tourists to learn remotely via computers and smartphones, thereby stimulating the desire to travel, relax, and explore .
In early 2024, the Ba Ria-Vung Tau 360 0 map was launched at https://bariavungtau360.vn/. Using virtual reality technology to link images, users using phones or computers can easily access and observe Ba Ria-Vung Tau with full views, from overview to details of each location by theme. The locations displayed on the map are all integrated with Google Map to provide specific, detailed location and location information. The virtual reality map of Ba Ria-Vung Tau becomes a piece to promote potential and beauty on the tourism map and attract investment nationwide.

Previously, in 2023, Con Dao was the first locality in the province to launch a 3D 360 0 tourism map of Con Dao. Up to now, famous relics and tourist attractions in Con Dao have been integrated into the above map.
While the State promotes digital transformation to position and promote the overall destination, reform administrative procedures to facilitate people and businesses, businesses are interested in details to increase convenience, intelligence and modernity for service facilities.
The use of electronic cards, online booking and payment, service evaluation after experience, cashless payment, AI application in business management and service... are very popular. According to Mr. Do Phuoc Trung, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the active investment of digital transformation resources in the tourism service business community contributes to creating attractive tourism products, increasing convenience, and more importantly, promoting the overall development picture of modern provincial tourism, in line with the development trend of the world .

Breakthrough spearhead of digital transformation
From those foundations, the tourism industry has been chosen by the province as a breakthrough in digital transformation. The Tourism Digital Transformation Project 2025, with a vision to 2030, aims to upgrade information technology infrastructure at tourist destinations by 2025, and enhance customer care services using technology such as providing free Wifi and 5G transmission stations at tourist destinations.
By 2030, operate and develop a free Wifi system and 5G transmission stations at tourist destinations; research and propose the expansion of the Smart Tourism Management Information System. The tourism industry also promotes the deployment of smart monitoring solutions to serve the monitoring work, ensure hygiene and order, and aesthetics at tourist destinations, store images, analyze environmental hygiene and order violations from a distance, promptly detect violations, and warn of dangerous situations...
To achieve the above goals, Ba Ria-Vung Tau will focus on developing digital infrastructure and digital platforms. Specifically, coordinating with network operators and technology enterprises to deploy a free Wifi system; building a tourism industry database and a smart tourism management information system; providing in-depth training on digital transformation; promoting and coordinating tourism promotion to spread information. At the same time, mobilizing the participation of the community, enterprises, organizations and individuals to conduct electronic transactions, online public services, online payments, and digital applications for tourism.
