On April 21, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism held a regular press conference for the first quarter of 2025.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Huyen, Deputy Director of the Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information, said that after the working session on April 18, the Department had drawn up minutes of the working session as well as minutes of handling the two cases.
In particular, BTV Quang Minh is expected to be fined 37.5 million VND, including two acts: Advertising inconsistent with one of the prescribed documents, violating Point a, Clause 2, Article 52 of Decree 138 and advertising using the name of a doctor violating the provisions of Point a, Clause 4, Article 52 of Decree 38/2021.
As for Van Hugo, for violating regulations related to misleading advertising about the quality and uses of products, the expected fine is 70 million VND, as stipulated in Clause 5, Article 34 of Decree 38/2021.
Van Hugo apologizes for "exaggerating" milk advertising, exaggerating the product's benefits.
In recent days, actor Doan Quoc Dam and MC Hoang Linh have been mentioned a lot because they appeared in a video advertising Cilonmum - a product in the chain of 573 fake milk brands. Doan Quoc Dam advertised Cilonmum Colos IQ Grow 24h. MC Hoang Linh said she was satisfied because she found good milk for her child.
Actor Doan Quoc Dam spoke up to clarify the milk advertisement video on the evening of April 16. Meanwhile, MC Hoang Linh chose to remain silent about the incident.
Previously, the investigation agency announced that from August 2021 to present, the suspects established Rance Pharma International Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company and Hacofood Group Nutrition Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company to produce and trade powdered milk.
They then produced 573 brands of powdered milk of various types, mainly milk for people with diabetes, kidney failure, premature babies, and pregnant women. The ingredients announced and advertised such as bird's nest extract, cordyceps, macadamia powder, walnut powder... were completely absent from the products.
On April 15, the Food Safety Department (Ministry of Health) sent a document to the Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information and the Department of Grassroots Culture, requesting coordination in managing food advertising. The Department requested to inspect and handle advertising violations on social networks, especially those related to celebrities, and report the results for synthesis.
