Not long ago, in Kon Tum , a traffic police officer was slashed by a young man with a machete.
Specifically, on the evening of April 6, while patrolling on National Highway 24 (through Dak Bla commune, Kon Tum city), the patrol team of the Mobile Police Department of Kon Tum Provincial Police discovered two young men on a motorbike acting suspiciously, so they signaled to stop for inspection.
At this time, the two young men did not comply and increased the speed to run away. The patrol team quickly followed the two young men towards Kon Ray district and then approached, requesting the vehicle to stop for inspection. During the inspection, the patrol team discovered a plastic bag suspected to be drugs in the pants pocket of the young man sitting behind. When checked, the young man ran away. Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Ngoc Quy and another officer of the patrol team knocked down and restrained the subject.
Being controlled, the young man took out a machete hidden on his person and cut Lieutenant Quy's right hand. The remaining members of the patrol team then quickly controlled and arrested the subject. Searching the subject, the police seized 2 more daggers (each about 15cm long).
Through initial investigation, the subject confessed to being Le Duc Loi (residing in Quang Trung ward, Kon Tum city). Loi had just finished serving his prison sentence and returned to his hometown.
