Quang Nam: Technical opening of Song Thu bridge and An Binh bridge cost more than 920 billion VND

Delegates performed the technical opening ceremony of Song Thu Bridge.

On March 23, the People's Committee of Quang Nam province held a technical opening ceremony for Song Thu bridge and An Binh bridge.

Mr. Nguyen Van Thuong, Director of the Quang Nam Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board, said that in the past, due to the inadequate ferry system, traffic and trade were still limited, making it difficult for people to travel and transport goods, causing many obstacles to socio -economic development and traffic safety. Therefore, investing in the construction of a road bridge system connecting rivers is an urgent need, contributing to promoting the socio-economic development of the province.

Song Thu Bridge across Thu Bon River is part of the project connecting National Highway 14H to Provincial Road 609C with a total investment of 378 billion VND. The project has a total length of 6 km, of which Song Thu Bridge across Thu Bon River is 669 m long. An Binh Bridge is 1,060 m long across Vu Gia River, part of the project connecting Provincial Road 609C to National Highway 14B, with a total investment of 550 billion VND.

An Binh Bridge project is 1,060 m long, spanning the Vu Gia River.

“In the coming time, we are committed to continuing our efforts and focusing on completing the remaining access roads of the project to promote the investment efficiency of these two bridges. When the entire route is completed, the benefits that the projects bring will contribute to improving traffic quality and promoting socio-economic development for the locality,” Mr. Thuong affirmed.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa (Duy Tan commune, Duy Xuyen district) shared: “Without a bridge, people here travel by boat, which is very inconvenient and dangerous. Now that the State has invested in building a bridge here, people are very excited, traveling is convenient, opening up many opportunities for local people to develop the economy.”

Mr. Tran Nam Hung, Vice Chairman of Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee, said that Song Thu Bridge and An Binh Bridge, once completed, will not only help connect the communes of Tay Duy Xuyen and Bac Dai Loc, but also shorten travel distances, promote tourism and cultural development in the western districts, create conditions to attract investment, improve the quality of life and expand urban space, while strengthening national defense and security.

The two projects are expected to be new development drivers, opening up urban space for Quang Nam.

“This is not only a traffic project, but also a new driving force for development, the people's belief and pride in a modern, prosperous, and developed Quang Nam.

Today's achievements are just the beginning. In order to soon complete the entire project and put it into operation to serve the people, I request that localities focus on resolving all problems and handing over the entire construction site to ensure progress," the Vice Chairman of the Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee emphasized.

In addition, Mr. Hung also requested the investor and related units to continue to speed up the completion of remaining items such as bridge access roads, traffic safety systems, organize acceptance and put into operation in accordance with regulations, contributing to serving well the trading and travel needs of the people, promoting investment efficiency.
