Quang Ngai: Crossing the forest to take a pregnant woman with severe preeclampsia to the emergency room

Because DDT623 road through Son Tay commune has landslides in many places and is not yet open, the forces coordinated to transport a 38-week pregnant woman by stretcher in many stages.

On the evening of October 30, Quang Ngai Province Maternity and Pediatrics Hospital announced that it had received a pregnant woman named D.TD, 38 weeks pregnant, with severe preeclampsia, from an area isolated by a landslide transferred by the Son Tay Commune Medical Center.

Hospital doctors performed emergency surgery on the pregnant woman.

Previously, Ms. D.TD was in a state of severe preeclampsia, threatening the lives of both mother and fetus and needed to be taken to the hospital for immediate surgery.

However, over the past 3 days, DDT623 route through Son Tay commune has suffered landslides in many locations; especially the section at km15+900 where part of the mountain collapsed, covering the entire road surface and has not yet been cleared.

Secretary of the Son Tay Commune Party Committee Dinh Truong Giang said that on the afternoon of October 30, the commune government and the health sector of Quang Ngai province coordinated with the police, the army, doctors from Son Tay Medical Center and local people to transport the patient by stretcher through the forest through landslide areas to bring the pregnant woman to Son Tay Medical Center, then to Quang Ngai Maternity and Pediatrics Hospital.

The forces coordinated to transport the pregnant woman by stretcher in many stages. For convenient traffic routes, the authorities transported the patient by ambulance.

At 7 p.m. on October 30, the mother had a cesarean section, and both mother and child were safe. The mother has overcome the critical stage and is being monitored and cared for by doctors and nurses at Quang Ngai Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital./.
