The rains caused by the tropical depression in recent days have made the beach of An Vinh village (Tinh Ky commune, Quang Ngai city) smell even more foul and polluted.

The situation of waste from the sea washing up on An Vinh village has lasted for many years without being thoroughly resolved, showing that the environmental pollution problem in this area is very serious.

The local government has made efforts to collect and clean up, but after only a few days or weeks, the garbage reappears. The main cause is that the garbage flows into the estuary from the river branches, bringing with it a large amount of household waste. Plastic bottles, nylon packaging, etc., along with the flow, have pushed garbage from other areas to the shore of An Vinh village.

The People's Committee of Tinh Ky Commune and Quang Ngai City, as well as mass organizations, have carried out propaganda for people living along the rivers not to litter the rivers and to treat waste at the source. However, for many years now, waste has been washed up by the waves into An Vinh village.

The People's Committee of Tinh Ky commune has proposed to build a breakwater, which is a solution to handle environmental pollution and protect the coast from the impact of waves. Currently, the waste treatment is still carried out by a specialized team of the People's Committee of Quang Ngai city to clean up and treat waste every month. However, the continuous flow of waste to the shore has seriously affected the lives of people living in coastal areas.
