The tourism promotion event "Shape of Quang Ninh" organized by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ninh province in coordination with APC Corporation and GTDO took place in Korea on July 25.
Mr. Ninh Van Thuong, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ninh delivered the opening speech at the event.
With the main message "One destination - Two heritages", the event introduced Quang Ninh as a destination converging two world heritages: Ha Long Bay - a UNESCO-recognized world natural heritage, with rare majestic landscapes and Yen Tu - a special spiritual cultural heritage, associated with the Truc Lam Zen sect, a symbol of the depth of Eastern culture.
These are two heritage pillars that create the distinct identity of Quang Ninh, helping visitors not only admire the majestic nature, but also experience the journey of discovering the spirit and culture of Vietnam. In addition, Quang Ninh also introduced many new and more diverse products at this tourism promotion event, notably a show including cuisine in Ngoc Rong Cave - a terrestrial cave that has been open to visitors since June 2025.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Ninh Van Thuong, Deputy Director of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism emphasized: "Quang Ninh is not only a destination of landscapes, but also a journey of experiences - a place connecting natural values, culture and hospitality imbued with Vietnamese identity. In the tourism development strategy, Korea is identified as a key international tourism market of Quang Ninh.
In 2024, the number of Korean visitors staying in Quang Ninh reached 184,818; in the first 6 months of 2025, the number of Korean visitors staying reached 88,795, ranking second in the number of international visitors staying in Quang Ninh.
Mr. Nguyen Quang Son, Representative of the Global Tourism Promotion Organization (GTDO), emphasized that Quang Ninh is not only known for its world-famous tourism symbols such as Ha Long Bay, Yen Tu or Bai Tu Long Bay, but also for its constantly developing identity. Quang Ninh is now a destination of innovation, depth and diversity - with new services such as cuisine and art experiences at Ngoc Rong Cave, health retreats at Quang Hanh, and island ecological experiences that are setting a new standard for experiential and high-value tourism.
With modern infrastructure, including Van Don International Airport and luxury resorts, Quang Ninh is ready to welcome international visitors and strategic partners. And more importantly, Quang Ninh is ready to cooperate, innovate and develop together with advanced tourism markets such as Korea.
Within the framework of the program, business-to-business (B2B) connection activities took place vigorously, with the participation of more than 200 travel companies, units organizing Korean tourists to travel abroad, and many typical tourism and accommodation businesses of Quang Ninh, opening up many opportunities for substantive cooperation, from building package tours to developing specialized products exclusively for Korean tourists.
Quang Ninh tourism businesses participated in introducing a series of outstanding products and services such as: 5-star cruise overnight on Ha Long Bay; Experience meditation - mental health care at Legacy Yen Tu - MGallery; International hotel chain with resort, entertainment, conference ecosystem (MICE); Tourism packages combining golf - resort - cultural discovery exclusively for the Korean market.
Korean business representative - Mr. Kim Jong Hoon (Team Manager) of Mode Tour said that Quang Ninh is changing strongly with high-quality products, suitable for the resort trend combining cultural and natural experiences that Korean tourists love.
"The event is a great opportunity for service providers to discuss, exchange and promote the destination. Hopefully, we will be able to attend more often," said Mr. Kim Jong Hoon.
Mr. Pham Khac Tuyen, Commercial Counselor of the Vietnamese Embassy in Korea, assessed Quang Ninh as one of the most prominent destinations of Vietnamese tourism when possessing the world natural wonder Ha Long Bay, Yen Tu heritage, unique marine - island ecosystem, modern tourism infrastructure and friendly, professional human resources. The event "Shape of Quang Ninh" is not only an image promotion activity, but also demonstrates the long-term strategy of Quang Ninh province in developing tourism products associated with heritage - nature - culture values, through close connection with the international market.
On July 25, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Deputy Minister Ho An Phong awarded the Minister's Certificate of Merit to Mr. Ly Xuong Can, Vietnam Tourism Ambassador in Korea, in recognition of his outstanding, persistent and pioneering contributions in promoting tourism and promoting the image of Vietnam to the people of Korea - a leading market sending visitors to Vietnam.
