Quang Tri province has issued 37 planting area codes for agricultural products.

To improve economic efficiency and develop strong agricultural production areas in Quang Tri province, enabling agricultural products to participate in exports, in 2024, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development intensified the organization of issuing and managing traceability systems and origin tracking. In particular, it strengthened the dissemination, guidance, and support for businesses and production facilities in applying traceability systems.

To date, the province has issued 1 packaging facility code and 37 product codes in various localities, covering an area of nearly 2,880 hectares. Specifically: 9 product codes for rice (102.6 ha), 4 product codes for pepper (75.07 ha), 3 product codes for *Tinospora cordifolia* (8.5 ha), 2 product codes for *Annona squamosa* (7.3 ha), 1 product code for mung bean (30 ha), 1 product code for passion fruit (2 ha), 1 product code for peanut (5 ha), 1 product code for dragon fruit (5 ha), 1 product code for citrus fruit (9.5 ha), 1 product code for macadamia, banana and jackfruit (532 ha), 1 product code for bamboo shoots (3 ha), and 1 product code for watermelon (5 ha). In addition, there are 3 MSVT codes for passion fruit and 1 packaging facility code that the Plant Protection Department is currently negotiating with the importing country to complete the necessary steps for code issuance.

Granting planting area codes is not only a technical requirement but also a crucial tool for enhancing the value and expanding markets for Vietnamese agricultural products. This is a necessary step in building a modern, sustainable, and integrated agricultural sector. Planting area codes act as a "passport," helping Vietnamese agricultural products easily penetrate demanding global markets.
