According to Highway Traffic Police Team No. 5, through a field survey, on the Cam Lo - La Son Expressway from Quang Tri Province to Hue City, the Traffic Police force recorded many potential problems with potential accident risks on the route.

The road surface in many sections is slippery, not ensuring the roughness for tire contact. Some locations have long ruts and depressions that can cause vehicles to lose control, potentially causing accidents. In addition, during the exploitation process, the barbed wire fence system along the route is not closed, so livestock and animals enter the highway area. After the floods, the foot of the fence at some locations is eroded, creating large gaps.

In particular, there are two temporary rest stops on the route at km 64 and km 77 but they are not safe. These stations do not have an exit and entry system; lack signs, and do not have a night lighting system. More dangerously, at the two temporary rest stops, the route only has two lanes running in opposite directions, divided by a solid yellow line. However, many vehicles still turn across and cross the painted line to enter the rest stops, posing a great risk of head-on collisions.

Accordingly, Highway Traffic Police Team No. 5 requested relevant units to promptly organize an assessment, readjust and have a plan to fix and repair to ensure traffic safety on the route.
