Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya said that the first trend will focus on local products with a focus on promoting regional values in the new conditions. The second trend is the quintessence of Indonesia's diverse culinary culture. International tourists will have interesting experiences and discover the characteristics of Indonesian culture through traditional food flavors.

The third trend is the fashion revolution, focusing on sustainability and a more environmentally friendly fashion industry in Indonesia, so manufacturers are expected to use more naturally sourced materials in their products.

According to Mr. Harsya, all these trends reflect the direction of the creative economy development, towards innovation, sustainability and cultural relevance in the digital era. The trends are expected to create momentum to support the creative economy sector to contribute up to 8.37% to the country's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) by 2029, as stated in the National Long-Term Development Plan (RPJMN).

The plan also expects to support long-term growth in national creative economy exports at 5.96 percent, investment growth at 8.08 percent, and job creation for 27.66 million people.

In the first half of 2024, the Indonesian government recorded creative industry exports of US$12.36 billion, a significant increase compared to the US$540 million recorded in the same period in 2023.

Indonesia's creative economy products exports are mainly fashion products at 6.77 billion USD, handicraft products at 4.76 billion USD and culinary products at 830 million USD.
