According to the Program of the 9th Session of the 15th National Assembly, on the morning of June 12, the National Assembly held a plenary session in the hall, discussed and voted to pass the Resolution of the National Assembly on the arrangement of provincial-level administrative units in 2025; discussed the draft Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Promulgation of Legal Documents.
In the afternoon, the National Assembly held a plenary session in the hall to listen to the Report and the Verification Report on the investment policy of the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 4 construction investment project; and discussed the draft Resolution of the National Assembly on the International Financial Center in Vietnam.
Previously, on June 11, speaking at the discussion session of Group 10, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Khac Dinh stated that the merger of provincial-level administrative units had been thoroughly discussed by the Central Committee, the Politburo , and the Secretariat; each comrade in the Politburo and the Secretariat was assigned to be in charge of each province and to work with each province.
Regarding the draft Resolution of the National Assembly, the Vice Chairman of the National Assembly said that the Resolution of the National Assembly will take effect from the date the National Assembly votes to approve it (expected to be June 12, 2025) so that the provinces have time to arrange and assign staff as well as stabilize other tasks; it is agreed that the new provinces and communes will officially come into operation from July 1, 2025.
Thus, compared to the previously planned roadmap, the voting to pass the Resolution was 1.5 months earlier, meeting practical requirements in localities./.
