Timely sharing with poor workers

In the first months of 2025 alone, the Provincial Fund for Supporting Workers in Special Difficult Circumstances has supported more than 50 cases of illness, accident, and serious illness, with a donation of nearly 500 million VND. There are people who are self-employed but unfortunately have accidents, fall ill, and are in the most difficult times but are still supported.

A typical example is the work accident that occurred at MA Company Ltd., Dat Cuoc Commune, Bac Tan Uyen District, which killed 3 people. The fund promptly supported each victim's family with 10 million VND. Ms. NTM, from Dong Nai , wife of victim TQT, emotionally said that in addition to the support of the province, the local government of Bac Tan Uyen District and many other agencies, the family also received very timely support from the Fund to support workers in especially difficult circumstances of the province. "My husband is a freelancer, does not participate in the trade union organization, but the fund does not abandon him. For workers far from home, in very difficult circumstances, receiving support from the fund is very valuable," said Ms. M.

In the first months of the year, with the support of many businesses and units in the area, this fund has promptly supported many cases of union members and workers who are sick or have serious illnesses. Through this activity, they have more money to treat their illnesses, solve immediate difficulties, and continue to stick with their jobs.

Ms. Hoang Thi T., a member of the Trade Union of Fotai VN Co., Ltd., after many months of treatment for thyroid cancer, has now returned to work at the company. She shared: “If I had not received timely support from the company and my colleagues, I would have had a hard time getting through my illness. After the surgery, it cost a lot of money; then I had to pay for rent, raise my children, and I did not know where to get the money, while my paternal and maternal families were both in difficulty. And when I was in the most difficult situation, I received support from the Fund to support workers in especially difficult circumstances. I myself, as well as my colleagues in the province, always hope that the fund will grow stronger and stronger, to share some of the difficulties with the workers.”

Recently, many cases of workers in difficulty have been supported promptly.

Need the cooperation of the whole society

According to the Provincial Federation of Labor, the Fund to support workers in especially difficult circumstances was established and officially put into operation in early 2020. On average, each case of illness, accident, or difficulty receives the lowest support from the fund of 4 million VND; the highest is 10 million VND. Every year, the fund will have large support periods during Workers' Month and the Lunar New Year; along with timely and continuous support when union members and workers unfortunately fall into difficulty.

Ms. Ong Thuy Hoang Mai, Vice President of the Provincial Federation of Labor, said: "Currently, the Provincial Federation of Labor is reviewing the number of union members and workers who are sick, have accidents, or are in especially difficult circumstances to provide timely support during Workers' Month 2025. The fund is always implemented in accordance with the provisions of the law and regulations."

Over the years, the fund has received special attention from organizations, individuals, units, businesses and workers who have joined hands to contribute, with the desire to support more and more union members and workers, especially those who are unfortunately in difficult circumstances, thereby helping them overcome the most difficult times, continue to stick with their work, with Binh Duong .

Since the Covid-19 pandemic, the fund has not only taken care of the poor, but also promptly supported hundreds of workers' children orphaned by Covid-19, to help them have conditions to live and study.

In order to have a source of funding to maintain operations and help more people in need, in 2024, the Provincial Federation of Labor sent an open letter to all levels of unions in the province to encourage union officials, union members, and workers to contribute at least 12,000 VND/person (equivalent to 1,000 VND/person/month). Through propaganda and mobilization, the Provincial Federation of Labor received active support from union members, workers, businesses, and units. In particular, many individuals who are teachers, civil servants, and public employees of the province voluntarily contributed from several hundred to several million VND/person...
