Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund contributes to training human resources for disadvantaged areas

On October 26, Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund (Central Youth Union) organized the program: "15-year mark - Lighting up dreams", and summarized 5 projects contributing to training young human resources for ethnic minority and island regions of Vietnam.

The program aims to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund and the 75th anniversary of the death of Heroic Martyr Vu A Dinh.

Contribute to training long-term, sustainable human resources for the sea and island regions.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Truong My Hoa said that after 10 years of operation, from 1999 to 2009, the Executive Board of Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund has determined the operational goals for the new period, contributing to building and training long-term, sustainable human resources for disadvantaged areas, islands, and border areas of the Fatherland. In addition to granting annual scholarships, the Fund has implemented 5 in-depth investment projects including: Nurturing the future, Winging dreams, Opening the way to the future, Lighting up the future and Supporting students. These are projects to help students have the opportunity to access a good, modern learning environment. Thereby, helping them develop physically, in terms of knowledge, skills and receive fundamental, long-term training to become potential resources for the village in the future.

"In those 15 years, with the efforts of the students, the care and attention from teachers and the enthusiastic support of sponsors, the projects have had... sweet results in training quality young human resources. That is, we have helped 1,737 students. Of these, 1,248 are ethnic minority students from 51 provinces and cities and 489 are from coastal and island areas. At the same time, the program has built 20 schools and school sites, 2 clean water projects, 40 new rural bridges to support theeducation cause in remote, isolated and coastal areas," Ms. Truong My Hoa informed.

Speaking at the program, Ms. Nguyen Pham Duy Trang, Secretary of the Central Youth Union, noted: "The scholarship fund named after the young hero and martyr Vu A Dinh was established by the Central Youth Union in 1999. Throughout its journey of building, consolidating and developing, the Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund has had many innovations. In addition to its annual activities in breadth, the Fund continues to exploit to bring activities into depth, have long-term influence and sustainability".

On behalf of the Central Youth Union Secretariat and the Central Young Pioneer Council, Ms. Nguyen Pham Duy Trang praised and expressed gratitude for the great contributions, dedication and devotion of the members of the Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund Executive Board, especially former Vice President Truong My Hoa, who always devoted her affection, enthusiasm and immense love to the children; accompanying and leading the Fund from its early days until now.

Ms. Nguyen Pham Duy Trang believes that the 15-year journey is not too long, but that time is enough for the Fund to affirm the prestige, quality and influence of the 5 projects invested in depth. From the first steps full of difficulties and challenges, up to now, the projects have achieved many good results, contributing positively to the cause of nurturing and training young human resources for ethnic minority areas. Especially in ethnic minority areas that are still difficult in all aspects and remote islands. That is the result of perseverance, dedication, effort and trying to discover and train young citizens with knowledge and capacity. The journey of giving will continue, transmitting faith, love, spreading inspiration for today's generation to follow in the footsteps of their ancestors, contributing to building and protecting the Fatherland.
